Here are a few photos of the Daytona. Hope to have it completed by July 4th. Pretty dirty in the photos and still needs to be wet sanded and buffed out, interior finished and of course the aluminum wing added. 440 stroked to a little over 500hp. 4-speed with console and buckets. Janak nose, Vega plug. Never done this before so please be easy on me.

It looks great, I love the red interior and the wheels  :drool5: great job.  :2thumbs:
"An aggressive exterior with power to match was enough to pull in the performance boys-especially when abetted by a pair of pipes blaring out the back, and brawny red-sidewall rubber hitting the pavement."

"........the four speed box changes cogs with the precision of a sharp axe striking soft pine."

hotrod98

Looks good to me. Kind of looks like mine except for the red interior, the red stripe and the steel wheels.

Makes me wish that I had time to assemble the front end on mine.

It was a 318 car originally so it is sitting a little low in the front. Will try to adjust the torsion bars to bring it up some.

For anyone who gets bored, here is the link to the resto photos I took along the way:

I sold mine to Bill May in Indianapolis Indiana. Is Chris Colson's green? I think Galen told me mine was the only 4-speed green car and the only one of the (13) cars built that was still in its original paint.

I hope my clone turns out so good. Great job. Mines on hold while my son goes to collage and I have baby sitting duty from 7:30am-4pm every day.
One of these days things will come together.

Decided to go with the dual snorkel look. Made this one. Not perfect but OK for me.

Also made this one for the 66 Biscayne 427/425 4-speed clone:

And this one for my original 1970 L78 Nova SS 4-speed car:

Love the looks of those dual snorkels.

Very interesting! Chevys....
My buddy Barry just picked up this gem...a '68 427 Biscayne...that's me in it.
It's a former drag car, which explains the low mileage, and non-original big block under the hood. But the history is verified, and the codes are correct.
Yes, it's a touch rough, but not for long!

I love it. Always loved the "Plain Jane" cars.

I just recently purchased a 1961 Biscayne with the pancake top. 45,000 original miles with its original 6-banger and a 3 on the tree. I have a 1963 409 dual quad that will go in it along with a super t-10. Oh yes, it is an original black car. If you hadn't noticed, black is my favorite exterior color. Here are a few photos as it is now.
