Has anybody ever installed a aftermarket 26" aluminum rad in a 66 charger that currently has a 22" rad, maybe something like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330331775735  :scratchchin:

Thanks for your time.

Well....I know that the 26" radiator fits in the 2nd generation Chargers.  It does say in the ad that it is a direct replacement.  I see no reason why it wouldn't fit, maybe have to drill holes in the mounting plates but I'm not too sure about the '66 or '67 space availability in the rad support.  I'd measure how much space you have and compare it to the overall size of the aftermarket radiator.  If you have the space...it will fit.  And make sure the inlet and outlet are on the proper sides.  I'm assuming it is a B or an RB engine??

26" radiator mounting holes are already there from the factory. All that has to be done is trim a few inches of the radiator support down the passenger side of the car.

I don't see any problems mounting that rad in a 66 engine bay....might have to drill a few holes but that's it.  ;)

A buddy of mine opened his rad cradle up for a 26 inch core and you can't tell it wasn't factory.  Mind you it was for a 69 and he owns a bodyshop but the same principles apply.

If I'm not mistaken, these cars came with a 26" rad if it was fitted with air conditioning from the factory. This is why I am more inclined to go with this size of radiator (26") in aluminum. It has a mild 440, but if I upgrade later on, I won't have to worry to much about the cooling system. Just making sure before I order it. Oh and Ron, I'll drop by sometime next week to pick up the boots, I'll call first.
