has anyone changed a 73 318 auto to a big block 4spd? I'm just thinking about doing it.

Haven't done it to my '71 Charger but boy do I want to (just a big block auto to four speed conversion - and I want overdrive).

I keep looking at the Passon Performance A833 with the beefed up OD gear (about $2,900). That would be ideal to me - OD in a 100% stock looking transmission.

You thinking of going with a kit for the conversion or trying to acquire all of the parts separate? There's a lot of parts you need, and a lot of them are expensive and probably hard to find...

Brewer's Performance here in Ohio sells everything you should need for the conversion in one kit - kits start at something like $3,600 for a third gen B-Body.

Yes, it's pricey and that's why I haven't done it yet! But the Brewer's kit apparently includes everything - rebuilt four speed trans, tunnel, pedals, bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, linkages, shifter, Z-bar - you need to do the conversion except for the big block engine and a pilot bushing in your crankshaft...

Best of luck with this project and it would be a great "how-to" thread if you do it...  :2thumbs:
