I delivered a pool kit to Pawnee, IL this evening. It was a long drive, 390 miles to be exact. We travelled north on I-55 toward Springfield from IL-4. I saw three different car lots full of old cars. One lot must have had 50 old cars. I was travelling at a good clip so I couldn't identify all of them but I did see several 3rd generation Chargers and a couple of 60"s Barracudas. I'm sure there were more I didn't notice. Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera this trip. I am heading home in the morning and will pass by them again. I'm gonna make a note of the names of the businesses and their locations. I'm gonna try to talk my wife into letting me stop by at least one.

Yes, one is Daves.  It is just south of Springfield in Glenarm and the other is close to me in Staunton (Country Classic cars)  Most are projects but I like to walk through every once in a while.

From what I've seen of Country Classic Cars, it's basically a junkyard full of overpriced junk. A freind of my neighbor works for this place and he's always saying he can't believe people actually buy this junk. Last time I stopped there, they wanted to charge me $1 admission to walk through the place.  ::)

those two 3rd gen's at Dave's Classics are reasonably prices, 2500-3500 for each.
when racing deals fall apart.....you go home, like me.

I have only been to Daves once it is a bit out of the way to get to but I like walking through country classics.

We finally made it home this afternoon. I wrote down the names and phone numbers for the businesses on my way home but I see you guys have beat me to the punch. We were running behind this morning so i didnt get a chance to stop. One of those lots had a ton of cars. I bet they had close to 200 cars. I wish I could have stopped.

Quote10k?..........uh...yeah.
They are much cheaper around here for same or better condition. I passed up a 69 440 running for 5500. Had very little rust in the 1/4s and needed some Int. work. I passed cause I want a 68 insted.

What part of the country you from Gandolf?  The problem in Illinois is Rust!
