Wow !! scored myself a 1970 Charger R/T 440-6 PACK/auto car.
This car has been sitting since '1978 outside of Edmonton on a farm. The guy even had the fortitude
to buy N.O.S quarter panels, fenders, valence, grill, etc.......with all the receipts!!!
It is like a dream come true :2thumbs:

69bronzeT5

Come on, we need pictures!!!! I'm betting the car was also from Crosstown Motors like my '69 (and I think your Charger was from there too?) :yesnod:

I sent magnumcharger the pics as I suck at getting them to post..........he said he would post them for me....
The car was sold new in Vancouver in 1970, then made its way out east of Edmonton in '71-72.It has spent all its life there causing trouble around Vegreville,Mundare and Chipman until 1978 when it was parked.

69bronzeT5

Awesome. Do you happen to know what dealership it came from in Vancouver?

I am located near Sherwood Park,Alberta.....east of Edmonton.
The car deserves a full blown resto....and it has been made abit easier with all the N.O.S parts.
Just trying to come back down from the cloud that I have been on since picking this fine unit up.

69bronzeT5

I looked up the dealer number and it's unknown right now. There is a database of dealership numbers & names but the one you put isn't in it. It could be any one of the Vancouver area dealers....Lawson Oates, Johnston Motors (where my Duster came from), Columbia Dodge in New Westminster. Who knows. I'll keep looking though.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Great find, nice color combo, keep us informed as to your progress. I thought Sherwood Park was west of Edmonton, at least it was when I worked there in 1978. Gerry
I used to own a mopar because it was different, but now I know better.

Who do you contact at Chrysler Canada for information. I have a 68 440 RT which was a customer ordered Canada car. I would like to get more information on the car if possible, particularly dealer.

Rallyecharger

The info is 68-71 warranty paperwork for the 440/hemi and all convertibles for Canada.A fellow that worked for Chrysler "accidentally" downloaded this info which he printed off.All it will have is the serial #, dealer code and first owner info.
PM me and I will see what I can do for you......

Ghoste

Too bad he didn't "accidentally" download a whole bunch more... but I suppose that is another topic really.

i wonder where my 70 r/t falls on the Canadian list ? Do you see anything about vin # 198796 ?

Thanks

I am also looking for the roots of my 71 R/T WS23U1a116243. If you could check for me or tell me who to e mail I would appreciate it. I have owned this car for thirty years and I think I was the third owner. I checked with MTO a long time ago and they only had info on myself and the person I purchased it from. A couple of years ago I was in touch with someone in Quebec that had an R/T #245 just a shade darker Green that was sold 40 miles from where I grew up at Sundrige Ont. Any help would be grateful. Nice find on the 6 pack RT. It just goes to show there is still undiscovered cars out there in 2009...Thanks Tom

Rallyecharger

Hi Guys, I have my buddy checking the info on the serial numbers you gave me........I should have something in a day or so for you.

awesome car!tell us more about it.like what options it came with, numbers matching or not, underhood pics.i'd like to hear the story on how you came about this gem.was it word of mouth or advertised?very nice colour combo.are you planning a full blown resto,or a nice driver?ps i have a 70 v-code as well here in kelowna bc.

Rallyecharger

I plan a full blown resto......I found the car a few years ago when the owner was having a farm auction.
He said the Charger was never going to be for sale and if so it would be "LOTS OF MONEY".
Well back in May a buddy of mine "Chargerguy74" came by for a beer and gave me a really good offer on my '74 Rallye Charger 400 4spd car (his Dad owned in from '76-78)......so I called this farmer up and asked about the '70 Charger. He said that he had just been thinking about selling it :o  talk about timing. He through out a price on Sat. and I said I would be out the next day.Well :rotz: he starts takling about his car and decides not to sell right now.
I wait all day then decide it is now or never.....I find him at the local town bar and went in for the move....
A couple hours and some beers later, with a stack of cash on the table he finally decided to sell it to me.
As for options, tic tock tack, console, performance hood treatment(v21)am 8 track etc....

Magnumcharger

Outrageous!!!
I guess that'll be the "headline" when this story gets scooped by a Mopar magazine some day!
