Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

 :pity:

i can totally understand why someone with a plain jane 3rd gen would want to paint up like a Jenny Lee, i mean it looks good to me and does add a distinctiveness to a plain jane charger, it's in the spirit and i think it's kinda cool...
I don't understand as much though why folks would want to copy a GL on a '68 or '70 that seems kinda dumb and seriously half assed,.. And I do understand some folks (not me, just some folks who were raised watching the show (cause could only bear to watch one episode and not all of it at that and thought it was as dumb as a bag of hammers,..  :shruggy: just didn't get it sorry, my idea of my favorite car of all time the '69 R/T SE didn't involve jumping stuff out on country roads and all that rural stuff...  being an inner city teen,.. but of course then i was approx. 18 and probably a 'lil bit more sophisticated in my tastes...  :-\ ) anyhow, whatever I think the car is an ICON it stands for an attitude of something to do with YEEEE HAW!!! ness,.. or something... and an entire generation of 10 year olds is now comming of age and able to get that iconic YEEEE HAWESS!! or whatever... so why not paint it on a littler box or mailbox or the old ladys' fingernails?..
if I saw that I'd go
YEEEEEEE HAWWWWW!!! too.

Brock Samson

i think Hans should've painted the Millinium Falcon up like a Jenny Lee...  :shruggy:

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE

Star Wars could have been a really big smash hit IF they painted up the Falcon like that :2thumbs:

This one is about three miles from my house. I tried to get the restaurant owner to sell me one of the headlight surrounds off the grill but he wouldn't let me touch it. :shruggy:

Apparently the General Lee has more of a following than I realized. I got a kick out of viewing the posted photos.  :yesnod:

All though I have no desire to do up a GL, I can understand why people would do a Dodge Charger, or even a Hummer, dirt bike, surf board, riding mower, snowmobile, bus, etc. as a GL but cannot see any sense in doing a non-mopar CAR as a GL. In my opinion if its a car then it should be a Dodge Charger, preferably a '69.

A GM, Ford, or import car as a GL just doesn't make sense to me.

Well, there is one thing that is in commen with all that you said and your probably don't even see it. There all metal tin. A GM, Ford, and Dodge is all metal tin form into a vehicle.  :shruggy:

Sublime/Sixpack

Well let me put it this way, what car was in the TV series The Dukes of Hazard as the "General Lee"?  A 1969 Dodge Charger, right?
As far as the Bikes, tractors, buses, etc. made up to look like a GL I see them as kind of a tongue in cheek joke, something to chuckle about, but a non-mopar car as a GL as I said before just doesn't make sense to me. Of course I'm different then a lot of people in that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it up right, and to me that would be a Dodge Charger as a GL, not a Chevy, or ford or toyota, etc.

If you don't relate MoparManJim to what I'm saying thats okay, I wasn't looking for validation from you, I was simply expressing an opinion.

I believe I must be incredibly anti GM.  Every pic of a GL in this thread made sense with the exception
of Chevy products.  Some are downright hilarous & some are very cool - but the Chevies are shaming
themselves.

Well I will relate weather you want me to or not bud, I agree with you that on the Dukes of Hazzard tv series, the car that played the role of General Lee was pose to be a 1969 Dodge Charger but alot of 1968 Dodge Chargers also played the role of General Lee as well  :shruggy:.. Bu tall these are all tin just form by certain companys is all into vehicles.

But the other stuff like dirt bikes, and stuff like that also cracks me up.

"Mark Madson of Clinton guides the General Lee to its resting place on the Boar's Nest in Allens Grove on Monday.  The 1969 Dodge Charger was painted to resemble the car in the TV series 'Dukes of Hazzard.'  The roof model appears to be jumping over the tavern.  It is one of two Chargers painted by students at Blackhawk Technical Institute to look like the General Lee."
