And you already know the answer if you would have asked her if you could spend the money first.

I tell all my friends that its easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission..   :yesnod:    :icon_smile_big:    :slap:

My wife's answer was " we really dont have the money right now (we were buying a house and closing that same week), but if you really want it, and thats the one ..."
She tries to give me what I want, but sometimes my requests are over the top also.
Id just be glad you still are allowed in the house if I was you.....

My wife is just the opposite. I can't even mention another Mopar and she always says why don't you buy it...I said if I ever get bored with the 440 in my 68 I'm going to order a 528 HEMI from FHO and she says you should order it now because if I know you you'll get bored and I don't want you to sell this one. I have a bad habit of selling cars shortly after finishing the restoration process on them. For once I wish she would say NO. She's the one saying you should buy a new Chally every time we see one. No thnks, I'll keep my non government control old car. She lovesw old muscle cars, drag racing, eeeerrr nascar, baseball football, hockey, camping, and I think she also loves me but I'm not 100% sure on that...I could never be with a woman who has any type of control over me especially anything about cars and money. I'll stop right there.

Update:

The Good News and the Bad News;

Well she finally looked at the car and complimented me on the great find.  It was one of those "Ya....Nice find dear!" comments.

Then the Bad News hit: "Why did you by a 66 when I know you like the 68 – 70's better?"  "It's got to go!"  "What were you thinking?"

Reply: "Can't pass up a nice Mopar" (visualize fuel being thrown on the fire here)

Then the Good News hit: "Why didn't you put that money towards the Cuda?"  "Get rid of that thing and get the first one done so we can both enjoy it.  Only then will we both look at the next one."

Reply: (mouth agape, blink, blink....) O.K.

So...Did I just get the nod?  Yes!

I'd like to feel sorry for letting this one go so soon, but I can't

So here it is...and "we'll" be back with a second gen later!

I think the solution here is to keep it and somehow make her think it was her idea.
