I asked Mancini for a quote on the Alu rods, pitman arm and LCA bushings.

Look how the rod is bent:

The stainless ones from Just Suspension are pretty nice as well.  I went with them and they look pretty good on.

CB

I check both rods, both are bent.
I ordered (steel) strut rods, LCA bushings and a pitman arm.
It's gonna hurt my bank  :'(

It only hurts a little while  :pity: I'd have bought new steel ones if I could, they are a good investment. Just think now, your good to go for 25 years! :2thumbs:

CB

Got a quote on the steel rods, I am refusing to pay $315 for a set :flame: :brickwall:
Ok, they are in stock, shipped in 4 days etc but I guess I'll order them from Mansini or someone else :shruggy:

these FirmFeel rods look sweet  :drool5:

The XV Level I (steel) Strut Rods  :drool5:
I might take that route  :yesnod:

XV stuff is top shelf CB and i find their prices resonable.....

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

CB

Today, 8 weeks later and almoste $300 lighter, I received the strud rods from XV Motorsports.
Heavy duty steel and adjustable strud rods.  :drool5:
Now I only need a pitman arm and LCA rubbers and my front can go back together.

CB

BTW nice stuff :yesnod:

I'm about to tackle my frontend this winter CB, and was wondering, did you use any specialty suspension tools? like these? http://www.americanmuscle.biz/AMERICAN_MUSCLE_23000_Pro_Tool_Kit_p/23000.htm

Did you guys need this tool? I need to replace my LCA bushing, and someone told me I need this to remove the old one when you get the pivot out.

think  i got my kit before that extra  tool came out !   all i done was press the pivot pin out  , torched  the rubber out &  chistled out the inner sleeve , as i was putting in  OEM type rubber bushings ,  ((((using poly you need to leave the outer  steel shell of the factory bushing in there , & also the inner one on the pivot pin ! )))))

So maybe I can save myself the extra $41 since I'm using poly? (thanks for the shell info, did not know that).

CB I'm not asleep here..... I already started the fabrication of a tool for the removement of our pitman arms.....
BTW remember the tool I fabbed for the torsion bars? Well it did the trick again nicely on my front end......

Did you manage to get the outer bushing part out of your LCA's? And how do those pins look where the LCA's sit on? They cost really nothing (I saw them around €30 over here).
Why I'm asking==> I read a thread bull started lately about pressing in the new LCA bushins with new pins wich I think is the way to go. First thing I'll be needing are your LCA's and the new bushings you have for them and your lower control arm pins (new or used if they're still ok). That means if you want to reuse the old ones, you need to remove them from the K member.

If you get that done, then drop of that stuff at my place so i can press the new stuff together in the shop at work....
When I get that done, I'll finish the pitman arm tool too and then we're ready to start the reassembly  :2thumbs:

Questions? PM or call me, I can still write/think faster in Dutch  :eyes:

CB

The (pass side) LCA, stud rod and T-bar are in position.
I need to go get 2 extra nuts for the other stud rod, then only included 2  :brickwall:

Also loosend up the swivel and bolt of the LCA, damn what a bitch :eek2:

So Koen, once both sides are put together (LCA, stud rod and T-bar) could you free up some of your precious time? Appreciate it!
