I heard it's not a biggie to replace them?  :shruggy:

Ghoste

No but you should get the front end realigned after although you can get it pretty close by carefully marking things out during the disaseembly phase.

tan top

  yeah what Ghoste says  :yesnod:
but if there is no play in the tierod end & it was onlt the spliting rubber boot !

! easy job if the split pin comes out easy ...  can even do it with out taking the wheel off ,  undo the castle nut .. 3/4 " socket  , pickle fork or a ball joint splitter , even a couple of raps with a hammer on the side of the  tie rod while leavering down with a bar (not on the sleeve though !).   you can get the rubber boots separate , from  year one , Mancini etc ..  or you might be able to scource one through a local car parts place  ... just match up the size with one from a ford , peugeot , renault  or something ..if you need it quick ...
have you heard of the six pack speed shop in Belgium ??  mopar specialists , they will prolly have some correct ones !

Ghoste

Yes, sorry Christian I was making an assumption there that the only issue was the dust boot and I shouldn't have.

Thanks tan top (what's your name BTW?) and Ghoste for the words of advise

I need to order a shop manual ASAP!!!

Then figure out what parts need to be changed out;
only the tie rods ends

or the idler arm

and sleeves too?

Once this is fixed make another appointment with the Dodge dealer so he can go back to the inspection.

I noticed some weak points in my engine bay harness so that's also on the 'to do' list for this week :yesnod:

So TANTOP,  :coolgleamA: , what would you do? Full front end rebuild or just swapping the tie rod ends and start driving the damn car  :shruggy:

I don't have a front sway bar. My shocks will be tired too... The car feels okay though.

my own personal choice would be to ..get a complete front end rebuild kit  :yesnod:   new shocks ...  have you  got tabs on the lower control arms for a saw bar ??  certainly would fit  one ...  depending where you get the front end kit  from , could always get  a aftermarket  swaybar ( S)  six pack speed shop might even have a oem one  :yesnod:
easy enough to change all this stuff, just takes a bit of time !
or just  fit what you need , to be able to drive the thing , then  rebuild the front end  over the winter ! as once you have done it , you will know its done !! & the front end is as it should be !   :yesnod:

:popcrn:
