I was looking at my old dried up rubber bushings for my K-Frame today and had a thought about replacement. Instead of buying the aluminum or steel ones, would a simple hockey puck with a hole drilled in the middle work? A hockey puck is really strong and stiff and I can get them pretty cheap. Has anybody done this before and does anyone think it would work?

Ah Hockey Pucks - I don't know :shruggy:

Can you shatter one by squeezing it in a vise?

IMO, dont use anything your not supposed to use on your front end...you dont want to take chances with things like that..EVER. A hockey puck is meant for hocky..not for cars.

Save money and go with the metal ones or rubber.

Poly is pretty close to a solid item.  I would stick a new replacement rubber one in there and be done with it.  Stock rubber is already gonna feel a good bit tighter than 35yo worn out rubber.

the problem is FIND THEM... I'm agree on use rubber since I LIKE isolation, but if they are not available... :shruggy:

I get rubber pieces down here made locally, but is a bad quality rubber. I had to reuse the lower section from donor cars, and just replaced the piece between K frame and frame rail.

I replaced mine, I think I mention where I got them in one of my threads

Cost IIRC was well under $200 for a new set.
