Hello everyone,

Well every day when I go to school I am usally on the later side and have to park my charger in the lower lot. Everyday since the beginning of the school year there has been a 69' super bee sitting there hasn't moved. So finally today i put a note on the car asking if he wants to sell. It is in alright shape needs new rear quarters and new paint of course and wheels etc... The interior looks alright too. I do not know what engine it has though. How much would this car sellf or if it were to be sold....? Thanks!

Troy

You're gonna need to supply a whole lot more information.... :P

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Charger500

sorry ill get back to you with more info later...

Blakcharger440

Alot more info. needs to be said. How much total rust? Floorboards rusty? The "alright" interior....is it orginal or does it have aftermarket seats or the wrong interior?
Does it run?

What engine does it have?
Does it have the dual scooped hood?
If so is all the airgrabber stuff there?
Is it a 4speed or Auto?
Which rearend does it have and is it a suregrip?
What kind of wheels does it have?
Does it have the dual side scoops on the 1/4 panels?
Numbers matching car?

This is just some of the info that would be needed in order to assess approx.value.
Then you also have to consider the overall condition of the car itself.
But thats a start.

Well.... as a fellow 69 and 70 superbee owner, I think I should chime in on this.  First things first, check the VIN to see if it by chance happens to have an M code for the engine on the VIN.  If it does (and is not a rebody), the value is alot higher than an "average" 383 Bee.  If it is a hemi car, same thing but worse (be prepared for "not for sale at any $").  There have been some instances where the factory put the wrong engine code down on those cars but they are few and far between.  As for desireable stuff if it was a 383 car: ram air, 4-speed, side scoops, stripe delete, loaded fender tag as most were stripped down to the bare bones for racing.  Watch for broken ram air stuff under the hood as that gets expensive (like $1500 for a unit) to replace.  1969 Superbees did not have the 440-4bbl. engine so make sure you have the right ram air baseplate as the 383 and 440 are not the same.  I have been working on putting a ram air unit back together from a shattered pile left in one of my parts cars, it is a pain but can be done.  The superbees suffer typical lower trunk floor rust and quarter rust just the same as a Charger, so be aware that someone could have made the quarters out of bondo.  If it is missing the side scoops, good luck because they are expensive, but they are now repoping them.  An orginal six pack hood will easily set you back a thousand or two if it is missing from a six pack car.  You can buy the repop hoods but the quality is not the same and usually the underhood bracing is not there.  Watch out for missing trim as that can also cost alot to find in nice shape............

And if you do buy it, get your cyberbutt over to the Dodge Coronet Registry and add it to the database.   They also have a lot of good folks over there in the forums.   Like here.

It probably was a 383 car, but you can always hope for a hemi.  Check underneath to see if the hemi frame stuff is there.  The ram air stuff adds value, but hopefully is complete as parts can be hard to find to fix it......

I just talked to the guy today after school. He said he not going to sell now  :icon_smile_sad:but if he ever will keep my number. It has a 383 which would have been fine for me. I wish i could come across a 426 in it...

Thanks! Charger500

Don't rely on him calling you.  If you like the car and think you want it someday, keep a respectful contact with him.  Don't badger him until he hates you but maintain that contact so that he knows you are serious and that you truly respect the car.
