Instructions are only to be used when all else fails :icon_smile_big:

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

The rule is that for every time some other year gets a diecast released....  they have to release another 69... so keep pumping them for more 66-8 and 70 ups...   sooner or later they'll get around to making a diecast of my car  ;D

They did a really good job on that car!! :2thumbs:

Wasn't there a 1st gen member here who was having his car used as reference material for a model? Fastback Jon, or someone else?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

FastbackJon

They asked me to send them pictures of the licence plates on my '66 Charger for use on the yellow car, but instead I had them put old michigan licence plates on the yellow car with letters "CAM".

Now who can tell me why I picked the licence plate to say that?

:scope:

;D

Headrope

Does is have anything to do with a certain automotive museum located in Auburn Hills?
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

FastbackJon

Nope but nice try. I don't expect second gen guys to get it right, it is fastback Charger specific.

Could it be as in "CAM"eron???????
That should be easy to all Charger buffs.

FastbackJon

Yep good job, the licence plate says "CAM" for Carl "CAM" Cameron, the designer of the '66/'67 Charger. For you '68 fans, he also desgined the round marker lights that were in all or most all '68 Mopars.

That must have been quite the project!   :icon_smile_big:

I thought he invented the glue for post-it notes. :D

He's also responsible for the Charger "arrow" insignia which he originally intended for use on the Dart (65??).  I think he had more input on the 2nd gen than the marker lights as well and some input to the 70 Challenger.  One of those unsungs.

FastbackJon

Yep on the Challenger, he did the exterior body lines of that one too. The '70 Challenger grille design he did, was originally intended to be on the '66 Charger. Not a gas powered '66 Charger, but rather a TURBINE engine'd car!

Which concept, incidentally, also influenced the very cool full length console on the 66.  Gotta hide that jet exhaust somewhere. :o
