On eof the local dealers here is good with it.  He says it's a better fit than the Germans and far better than being taken over by GM.  He feels that with Fiat just making small stuff that it will bring some good product mix.
I imagine any dealers who are getting shuttered will have a different opinion.

could be worse, but who knows what the future will bring now

Fiat has historically made some of the ugliest cars in the world. :eek2:

Ghoste

Yes but they also recently accomplished a pretty successful business turnaround within a two year time frame.  Perhaps if they bring some of the ugly microcars to the US that Obama and Green Lefties (the modern answer to the Beatles' Blue Meanies) all so desperately want us to drive.

I gotta agree with that one. My brother-in-law just retired from GM, My sister still works there till next year when they shut down the Ontario Ohio stamping plant, and as of right now with the way it is looking I wouldnt buy a new car from them at all.  Ford Yes, Chrysler maybe, GM hell no.

Me too. :yesnod:

Welp, it's gonna be interesting to see what sort of things happen with Chrysler products now. On a side note, I just saw my first new Cramaro on the road this morning, during the hellish commute (40 miles  ). The plastic front license plate bracket was broken on one side & looked like it would fall off at any minute. :smilielol:
I guess it looks better in person than in pics, but the Chally's still look much better IMO.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Care to elaborate, Tilar?

GM asked the employees and union to take pay cuts and they wouldn't even consider it. Now you find that the reason they didn't is because the union is to own a big percentage of the company. Plus from listening to my sister, the salaried management bitching and complaining because they are going to lose 50% of their retirement which will only be paying them 8k a month! /sarcasm off

I guess I'm just irritated at the way the government has come into the picture when it shouldn't have their nose in it, and the way these people complain even when their retirement pay is still twice what I'd consider good money.

I guess I knew all along this was going to happen. You can't have people making 35k a year buying cars made by people making 100k+ a year and expect to sustain it.

I'd say the exact opposite. I thought it looked pretty good in pictures, but when I saw one out on the road, I didn't care for the look, at all.

Silver R/T

Maybe it's for the better? That's what American company gets for running business worth a s***. Dealers got what they deserved for ripping off customers for decades, providing bad customer service and practicing other bad business practices.

They got good taste!

nh_mopar_fan

You won't see any Fiat badged cars. They already know that their reputation sucks. Expect to see Fiats rebadged as Chrysler or Dodge.

You will see some Alfas though.

Ghoste

Their reputation sucks over here, obviously they must be doing alright somewhere in the world because they have enough cash to buy a failing American automaker.  If they send some little tiny microcar that the greens approve of and rebadge it as a Dodge and send minivans the other direction and rebadge them as Fiats, maybe all will work out in the end.
At least there isn't a lot of time and money being wasted pretending it's a merger this time around.
