Radiator replacement...1994 Dodge Ram

I need to replace the radiator in my beater 1994 Dodge ram...

My question is...

Is there some trick to disconnecting the transmission cooler lines?

One of them looks like a normal threaded fitting...no big deal.

The other one ?

I don't know what is going on there  

Anybody done one of these ?

those lines a bad news any way they have a nylon check value in them that melt and restrict cooling


I recommend gettin an aftermarket big trans cooler and cuttin those line off way back behind the nylon checkvalve  then just runn big rubber hose to the new cooler
   heat is the enemy of these trans we do this all the time on our trans installs and have never had to warranty these trans missions since starting to do this 5 years ago . s

Is there a special tool to dissconnect the lines? Or am I not seeing  something?

Got 'er done!

The local Car Quest had the tool I needed.

It was a little tricky, but I got it on about the third try.
