If you were going to put a hood scoop on a 68 charger what style would you recommend ?
(Looking for hood clearence for my large breather) Thanks

Looks like Jungle Pam needs some clearance for her large breathers also!!!!

I honestly like the 67 SS/SA car scoop - but it is a very odd choice for a charger...     looks kick ass though

Years ago I saw a 68 with a hood scoop from a (GAK !)Ford Torino. It actually looked pretty good on there. Lays low and follows the hood profile.

I'm not sure if Rolling Thunder and I are talking about the same hood scoop, but I always thought that if someone was to cast a flat Charger hood (sans louvers) and installed a '67 GTX SS/A "Silver Bullet" scoop, it would be the best looking Charger hood around.

Dick Landy used the same scoop on his '68, but didn't take the louvers out, rather he just pushed the scoop back really far on the hood.

There was a fella in Dallas back in the day with a C500.  He used a hood with the vents
& that scoop for drag racing & went back stock for shows.  I loved that car.
:drool5:

I just wish I got to stick around to see more than pics of his green Daytona.  It was on
its' way to restoration instead of World of Wheels at the time - Maybe 87?

If I will go for the scoop option I will use the Challenger T/A scoop, since I also will have the original hood I thought I would
try something else.

I like that GTX SS scoop, I also like the T/A scoop after seeing it on this car:

T/A or Sixpack scoop for me  :Twocents: Might not be as functional as the GTX scoop, but that's not what I'm going fo.

richRTSE

I don't think any scoop actually looks "right" on a 2nd gen Charger, but my two favorites are the sixpack scoops and cowl hoods, not necessarily in that order.

Khyron

another vote for the cowl hood. A local 68 has one and it looks great.

I like the 6 pack scoop but prefer the nice clean lines of a Charger with no scoop.

I have to agree, Brock. I've seen a bunch of Mopars with Chevy hoods. It just don't fit.
