I am in need of some new molded upper and lower radiator hoses, which seems hard to find, since I have a late 70s water pump housing with passenger side lower outlet (part no 3688468).

Can anyone give and confirm which part number I need? Someone else got to have driver side upper hose and passenger side lower hose. I think TerribleOne has it?  :scratchchin:

Nacho, where could I get those hoses? can't seem to find the numbers anywhere...
Also, what are the differences between those two upper hoses? These hoses go on the drivers side, so they don't interfere with the alt.

Nacho-RT74

Dunno where to find them... let me know when you do LOL. Last upper one I got was a NOS one I got down here about 6 years ago. There was another one on those days, but not anymore.

I have a flexible one on bottom.

Leece nevill alt uses a VERY diff alternator bracket, GIANT one,... maybe bigger enough to need a diff hose.. Dunno, never have seen perosanlly one, just on pics and not close enough to check where is the interference. However don't take care about that, just was an extra info I wanted to post. You don't have a leece neville alt ;)

hmm. Last i checked i can get both upper and lower (with spring) at my local parts place...i have a leece neville alt too...bracket is fricken huge. Everyone keeps telling me "oh that dosnt look stock" i always have to explain to em.

Hemidog

I see.

Someone here told me that hoses from a 78 Dodge Magnum with a V8 will work on my car, does anyone have a number for these?
Maybe someone can tell me when and on what models Chrysler switched sides on the radiator, so I can just search for them?  :scratchchin:

Nacho-RT74

73 was the radiator/water pump housing outlet side change. I think in all bodies. I never have seen again from 73 the earlier water pump housing mounted back, and thats an standart engine setup, no matter on which car goes.

The change was also on number of belts running and not anymore an iddler to water pump/fan belt, being the steering pump shared same belt and was an itself iddler. Steering pump brackets are aslo diff for same reason

the groove left by the fan/water pump at crank pulley was used now for AIR PUMPS on C bodies, what sits above the steering pump. That it was another reason to all the belts setup change

Magnums should it be the same. maybe with a Later PN... who knows.

FLG already told me he could probably get it at a shop around. he was to go and check.

Used Summit's website to deduct what hose I need, and it looks like I need these, if that 72/73 change is correct like you said Nacho.

However I will NOT buy them from summit, their shipping prices are insane for small orders for us overseas customers :RantExplode:

you tell me  :-\. I have several stuff I got from them what I I'm needing right now, storaged in Miami, waiting to be shipped by sea just for that reason.

thats because they don't use regular postal service, just Fedex, UPS or DHL... just private

Try rockauto... or wait for FLG has to say about local shop stock.

and yes, the 73 was the first year to the change... trust me ;)

Checked rockauto, and apparently the MOLDED radiator hoses fits Dodge Chargers from 1966 to 1978(but if it's an SE; 73-78 :shruggy:).... that helps...  :rotz:

FLG

Hemi,

What year hose are you looking for? Upper and lower or just lower??

I will be going to the parts store thursday to check prices...they also come with the lower springs.

Hemidog

Both FLG! that would be great if you could do that  :yesnod:

FLG

Ok,

What year do i give them though? I can tell them 73 Charger with pass side lower WP. What do i tell them for upper?

My 73 is Pass side wp and i got a lower hose with spring (molded) with no problems...same for upper.

Hemidog

So you have the two radiator holes on the same side?
I have the upper on the drivers side.

Hemidog

Okey, then I only need the lower hose partnumber FLG.
1 3/4" diameter right?

Hemidog

What about smallblock? I think they might fit my bill....

FLG

hemi, i have finals this week and just got cought up with school and work.

Will check on tuesday.

I apologize.

FLG

Ok heres what i was told

GoodYear hose might have to cut a little off but its molded..also will have the spring (if it dont ill make sure i get one)...think he said around 10$ for the hose.

Thought he said 60862 but thats the wrong PN..never the less i can get it.

Hemidog

So FLG, does this mean you can get these hoses for me and Nacho, and send them to us? (pay for it offcourse)
that would be awesome....
Don't suppose you could find me a drivers side upper hose? (molded), as you can visually inspect that they fit.

FLG

Yep not a problem.

I can get them thursday.

So just to make sure. You need lower passenger, driver upper?

I need to check i might even have a driver upper i had purchased on accident. Im almost sure i do.

Hemidog

You are correct!
Awesome!  :2thumbs:

Make sure the upper is 1 1/2", and the lower is 1 3/4"

Hemidog

How did it go today FLG?

FLG

Well i myself have an upper hose that should work. There is no upper hose available. Even the one you were going to buy off of summit would have been wrong. I had the hose in hand and the upper one is a passenger side for the upper, not driver like you need.

As for the lower, yes it might sound weird if you look up the PN on summit (60862) as all you get is Ford and Jaguar...but is IS the correct hose.

I compared it with mine.

The upper hose i have is a gates (20874). I cant say exactly if it will fit, but it should with just a little trimming.

Just PM me the shipping info, ill get back to you on shipping costs and just the cost lower hose. I have no use for the upper so you can take it, if it dosnt work well then neither of us is out anything.

:2thumbs:

Hemidog

Wow, talk about service, I would never have found the right hoses without your help, that's for sure (can't believe how hard it is over the internet)

PM sent! and thanks!  :2thumbs:
