That with the AMD panels avaliable now....you could probably build a 1968-69 Charger using a Coronet body of the same year? :drool5:

And with only a couple of actual Coronet two-door parts in the mix, you could very well build one out of a FOUR DOOR??? :yesnod:

Who is going to be the first to do this? :2thumbs:
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 340 convertible
1968 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4 speed
1968 Plymouth Barracuda S/S clone 426 Hemi auto
1969 Dodge Deora pickup clone 318 auto
1971 Dodge Charger R/T 440 auto
1972 Dodge C600 318 4 speed ramp truck
1972 Dodge C800 413 5 speed
1979 Chrysler 300 T-top 360 auto
2001 Dodge RAM Sport Offroad 360 auto
2010 Dodge Challenger R/T 6 speed
2014 RAM Laramie 5.7 Hemi 8 speed

Lets start a parts list. :D

1. Everything from firewall forward.
2. Everything from firewall back. :icon_smile_big:

You know, this is probably possible. :yesnod: You would need almost every body panel though. :scratchchin:

Hemidoug

You wouldn't need everything...the floor pan, front inner fenders, trunk pan and inner wheelwells are all the same. If you were using a 2 door as the base all you would have to replace are fenders, hood, roof, quarters, outer wheelwells, tailpanel, and trunklid...... :D

I thought the trunk pan was different because of the fuel filler being different? :shruggy:

Just 6T9 CHGR

Nothing a sawsall couldnt handle.
Isnt there a company making convertible Chargers now using Coronets with AMD sheet metal?

It was bad enough I just read about what it would take to convert a 70 into a 68! :slap:

Mike DC

Yeah, I realized this possibility a while back.

Take a 2dr Coronet or Belvedere, yank the skin off, and replace it all with Charger parts.

You'd need to fabricate/pirate some Charger stuff for the doorjambs and the inner metal structure around the rear window area.  Not very much else at all.

Magnumcharger

Nope...the doorjambs are now offered.....
