wel the title sums it up, the tranny is winning. i have it in and the crossmember bolted down, teh shifter is in, workin on the pedals. they are roughed in. the z-bar is the big issue. it acts like there is not enough room between the bellhousing and the frame. the brakcet i need to weld in doesnt fit with the ball's in the z bar.

Rolling_Thunder

do you have the correct Z-bar ?

Check the ball studs. There are 2 different sizes/lengths.

What motor?

c00nhunterjoe

383,

i made my own bracket to mount them, works good so far. i have another 300 miles left on the clutch burn in before i can give it hell to see if it binds.  i wasnt aware of the different ball studs, they came in the z-bar kit i got with the tranny

I usually give the clutch about 300 seconds before I burp it.  ;D

i know, the500 mile break in is ridiculous. i have never done that. they get a "once around the block" and then its good to go. but centerforce claims it needs the break in time so i dont want to screw up the warrenty on it

Chryco Psycho

how much too long is ti ?
you can trim a little off the Z bar tube if nessisary , or you rpobably have the small block Z bar which is 3/4 " longer or os

c00nhunterjoe

anybody have the lengths of the small and big block z- bars?
