Besides, I like to work on my old cars. It's not just about driving to me.

bought a good   driver , unrestored 20 years ago ,

but now have  a nut & bolt restoration ,  every nut bolt screw part removed :yesnod:  , done every thing ..only  things i had fo farm out was the  re chroming of the bumpers ( i knew i should  of done the metal prep  :RantExplode: ) & putting the tires on the wheels , oh &  engine machine work ! .

Bought a driver, that had been restoed by a blind butcher, but i knew that, and a complete resto and modification is starting now in the fall. For this summer i will fry tires, and enjoy :cheers:

I believe I bought a really good, low miles, driver way back in '89. Did a bit of work on it. I've had it 20 yrs now and I think maybe my son will have to be the one to "restore" it. I'm just gonna enjoy driving it as long as I can. He can have it when I'm done. :smilielol:

Besides, I seem to speding most of my money on him now. :scratchchin:

I bought mine needing some restoration.  Tore it all apart and now it needs much more work than I originally planned for.  So far, I've done a lot of work myself.  I tore out the trunk pan, sandblasted the front clip and some front under carriage, got that primed by our good friend Leon "Hemi-Hampton", I restored the grille myself.  There's a lot more to do but, money will play its part a little at a time. I've got more sandblasting to do underneath and behind and when I get that done and then primed it'll be time for some panel replacement.  Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel but, I'm still holding in there so far.  Like anybody cares.    :violin:

Bought mine needing a partial restoration. Body, paint and motor done.

I just had to fix some electrical issues, redo the interior, dash/gauges and all the outside chrome trim and bumpers.

Vinyl top is my next project.

bought mine in a barely running pathetic rusted out state. proceeded to take it completely apart  and back together in an 8 month psychotic frenzy...now it has 405 rwhp and runs like a top. will finish the cosmetics this fall, projected at 2 months downtime so in all about a 10 month project...that cost way too much. but I am happy. I had a great time taking it apart and putting it back together.

bought mine one day he delivered it to me the next! I drove it through town to see how it felt. next I went across the street to me family's field. spun a donut to fulfill my life long dream and pulled across the street to its new home! all in about a half hour before the local Rosco caught wind of me! I yanked the motor that night :pity: I never planed to have it a wounded soldier this long. and as I look at it now its still on jacks till next summer.  :brickwall:(at the earlyest. I make payments on a twelve G car that I can only look at.... at least its better then staring at an empty shop and dream! like I did before.one step at a time...

My dad purchased ours in 96 as a project together. It needed pretty much full restoration. Since then I went away to college, my dad passed away, I graduated college, and now I'm back at it!  :icon_smile_cool: This time in memory of my pops.

Totally went through the '69 and completed it back in 2005.

Now the bug is starting to bite again with my '68. That car was bought by my father back in the mid 70's and is showing it's age.

bought mine as a nice driver with a bum motor, restored it to what she is today. I have more pride now that I've essentially touched every bolt in the car :)

I bought my '69 stripped and rusted from a junkyard, ( Pics below) i knew it was an R/T SE auto air conditioned car which was what i wanted but beyond that i wanted a project car, I wanted to build my own the way i wanted, basicly a black '69 street fighter based loosely on Dick Landy's super stock '69 only with a six-pack motor and a/c.

Death1970Proof

Bought needing a complete resto in '07 from out behind a barn and left for dead. To far gone and to much missing
for restoration, but still decent enough to save and bring back to life for a decent "fun/modded" driver.  Still a work in progress.
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

bought mine running and driving with clean paint but in need of a full resto. its fullllllllllllll of putty. that was 10 years ago, i havnt got very far on the body. since the i have built a strong 383 for it, converted to an 833 tranny, and overhauled the rear. collected a bunch of parts but havnt gotton much else done

Bought mine from a guy in Chicago area.  Car was advertised as a restorable car with lots of new parts in boxes.  Guy ran out of time and money.  Well since this was my first restoration I learned that one mans restorable is another's parts car.   Bought it spring of '07 and dissamembly is complete except for dash and front suspension.  Rear frame rails and trunk floor are replaced, the saga continues.

bought mine in 68 drove it 1 year 2 months and was hit head on .bought the next one in 88 and full resto and still going.

Bought mine "ready for paint"... after stripping the primer off and finding over a dozen pieces of galvanized sheet metal rivetted to the car under up to 3/4" of bondo, its undergoing a full resto.... After Im done all this buying a house and moving everything junk  :icon_smile_big:

I bought mine in the mid 80's. Original with about 63k on the odometer. I would not classify the work  I have done over the years as a "resto" per se. I just repair the original parts, replace when required and keep driving it. It is still a nice driver and, I believe cleaner than when I bought it. I usually pick one thing out a year to recondition to make it better then the year previous. This year I reconditioned the interior. Just finished up today. :2thumbs:

2. My 69 SE was a good driver, i crashed it so total restoring :rofl:
