I have a 74 R/R with big block, A/C Car, has a heater contol valve under hood that all heater hoses connect to, also has a cable running inside to temp control, warm or cool.. My question is should a 74 R/R with a 318 None Air Car have a single heater control valve with a heater hose spliced into it and a cable from inside control that sides from cool to hot to shut off valve. I know the ac cars have these valves, I have a 74 Sattellite parts car that is a 318 air car and it has valve spliced in heater hose and a cable shut off. This guy I have been talking to has a 74 none air 318 RR and says he has no heater control valve spliced into his heater hose, what would shut off water flow to heater core if it doesn't have one.

maybe valve inside heater core ? :shruggy: I think controls on non AC cars are all inside... I know in fact some models are/were in fact vacuum controled
