Which company do you guys insure your charger with?  I got a few quotes, they all seemed real high, a friend of mine pays about $20.00 to fully cover his 73 cuda, and all the quotes I was getting was around $60.00/mo for basic liability.  I have a clean driving record ect, it just seemed pretty high.

There could a lot of variables that made the difference.  Age of drivers, car driving limitations, storage location, and similar.  Somewhere there was a thread about different companies and the ways to get your car insured.  I have my wife's 68 Firebird Conv insured as a daily driver/work car and pay accordingly to an agreed value.  My 69 R/T is insured as a classic with some driving use restrictions (carshows/car events, and occasional outings) and insured at a higher loss rate but costs a lot less because it's not a regular driver.  Maybe he had his done as a classic but is taking the risk of driving outside of what he said he was insuring it as and you got a regular driver rate.  :shruggy:  Try a search and I'll see if I can find the one I was refering to.

I called a few companies it seemed pretty high $100/mo range.  My driving records clean and that was state minimum liability only.  Are there any classic car companies that will insure a unrestored car?

I'll be using ICBC (against my better judgement ). They're a company just here in B.C. I phoned and got a rate for 3 months insurance for my Duster. 1,000,000 liability...theft, fire & collision coverage & for the 3 months...$340. Which isn't bad considering I'm a new driver with an old car and my discount is 0%.

It depends on your age, record and location.    I have collector insurance on my 71.  Its way cheaper then if I would have standard liability or full coverage on it.  I think its like 16$ a  month.  Its an agreed value insurance. Only rules I have to follow is no daily drive to work. No drag racing and its got to be kept in a garage. Mine is with State Farm.

I should try collector insurance.  The rep I called I don't think listened to what I was telling him, the quote he gave was more than the online quote.  It won't be in a garage but I don't see them really looking into that?

i have an agreed value with hagerty $9000, $175 yr, but with mileage restrictions, (i'm WAAAAY below my limit) but i hear grundy has been allowing more mileage, if your not using a classic car insurance company your gonna pay alot more, when i was driving mine to work everyday Farmers was charging me $55 mth for liability only

I wish mine was $55 a month for liability I'm in the range of $100/mo for 50/25/25. I told hagerty 1,000 miles for the 3 months or so I'll be driving it this year I think I low balled myself.

I have Hagerty. Agreed-to value of $25k for $113/year.

Needless to say, my car is now properly insured for 35K agreed value.
