I did get an offer to trade it for either a '70 Hemi 4-speed Road Runner or '68 Hemi Charger R/T.. Both of which are stunning cars.

And yeap, money is tight..

Love the videos, beautiful car. I hear what you say about the 4-speeds, but wow! It's kind of strange how some cars, although beautiful, do not seem to find a home for very long. Years ago we had a gorgeous 70 Hemi Challenger over here in England (Plum Crazy/4-speed) which went through lots of owners before returning to the USA. I saw it for sale again a couple of times in quick succession. I wonder what happened to it. Good luck with the car, you are living the dream!

It was to get the 4-speed equivalent.... But, alas it didn't sell.... Not that I'm upset, disappointed I may loose out on the 4-speed my friend has......  So, with that being said, it's time to make mine a little better here and a little better there and learn something new.......

Now you see what I go through when I try to cruise in my 500. It has aftermarket 4.11 gears in it with the AT transmission. Made for a very long cruise over to Carlisle last year.

Sorry Troy but you still do have a daytona in the long run .And you can learn details and improve on what you already got to work with .I for one will try to answer and help in anyway I can.As this sites motto is a place to share and learn at. That not always to being the case my suggestion is and I will make this well known to all outhere to the entire web .If you dont findout what you trying to learn about on here .Try other boards as I feel I cant recommend this one to anyone anymore.

Dave, I appreciate any help from others on any board. As far as others, I know what you mean and have developed the duck and water philosophy, just rolls off... Granted though, there are those times I just can't "help" from commenting as I did on the moparts thread..

Danny.. Man, I know it !! I once drove from West Palm Beach, Florida. to Savannah, Georgia in my old '70 six pack Charger R/T with 4:10's.. That was a long drive !!!!

If I do keep this particular Daytona, I may invest in an overdrive unit.

Yes Troy I hear what you saying .Whats you  What would you think on this I agree getting see a car in confidence is sacred ground .And so is the material your retrived from it .But if it goes up for sale and becomes disclosed for the first time to the general public .What responsability do you have with the material you got .Because a person coming to see that car has same opportunity to get that material or has sent it to me after passing on the car .But your suppose to sit on the material you obtained?:

Say a certain car is a recluse been off the road since 72 .And you get the nod to come see it in a private storage facility And take pictures etc.And owner say this is just between you and me right .And thats good and confidental.Done deal .Say the same car goes up for sale that next weekend .And you got or had been given that info on it from your past visit .Know that car has become publiced for sale and your not the one to make the first disclosure about it to the general public.Your not under a condfidental guideline to the material you have to offer.Are you??

I'd say a person has a right to do whatever they feel in that situation without having to put up with harassment from a certain individual all over the internet. Maybe that's just me?

Concerning Dave's scenario.
I totally agree in respecting someone's request to not disclose information about a particular car if it's been requested. If the owner decides to put the car up for sale at a later date, then so be it. But, if he/she has only disclosed certain information about the car, then at most anyone should do is may validate the said information the current owner disclosed or made public. Under no circumstances should anyone disclose information on the location of the vehicle. That should solely be up to the current owner. There are ways a witty person can come up with the information, but it shouldn't be make any easier. Personally, it's a touchy subject and one in which I tread lightly.

I see similarites as like with the daytona shiplist That Greg K only possesed it which had #385 cars.And after a vin rubbing of your cars vin.You got only your cars dealer selling info period.Mighty Mopars aurthor Anthony Young steps up and has samelist with the new # 501 cars.And made it available and possible from his contribution .That you could [LEARN ] from it as to how many daytonas 426 and 440s went to what states and in what numbers .Also you could [LEARN] the dealer numbers and dealers name.And [Learn if you car was missing a fender tag and buildsheet you [LEARN from this sheet your 926 Job Number

Thanks Troy this car has been for sale.I met Les bowman back in the day.Certain features about him remined me of Karl Malden from streets of San Francisco as I recall .I consider this car a pivotal daytona in wing car history .And trying to learn about.A picture of it .Are the feds know after me.There are alot sensitive/ personal information obtainable on the internet .I did consider pictures to be one of them

Sorry to chime in, but I've been a lurker on your quest for a Daytona for a quite awhile. I was living vicariously through you since you had a 68 hemi and a 69 500 and a 70 440+6. Kind made me think what if I would of kept those cars I had in the past, like you actually did.

I was watching when you listed the project on moparts for sale, but I knew it might have been to high $wise, then you cranked the hemi project into high gear dropped the motor in etc. and made the project seem like a much better deal for the money.

Then you were working on the deal to trade the two for the one? the deal was up in the air, were you giving to much for the car, maybe pulling a great deal...the drama better than a soap opera.

Troy, glad to see you got your prize and the deal worked out, loved the video, On second thought, maybe you did a great trade after all. 

But then I saw the car for sale on Moparts????Those slightly coded incoherent comments from NascarXX29 who I know from his posts is like the king of the winged cars

I've been rooting for you for a year and then boom within a week your selling it. I know, mind my own business, but this is like DodgeCharger reality TV and I've been watching for a while.  Are you really selling this one to get a 4spd, that would be a smooth move and a car I'd rather have as well.  As noted above, I and probably a lot of others are watching and living vivicariously through you on this deal as well,
