Rear tire Size for 18x9 " rim

Just bought 18x9 Foose Legends. Tire shop recommending 245/45/18 for rear tire size. I was thinking more along the line of 285-295 Anybody have pictures or recomendations. 69 charger with stock springs and a Dana rear end. Want a fairly wide tire, currently running 14/60R/235. They look puny

i have a pair of 245/45/18's on a set of my 9" wheels. There probably the "correct" size tire, but you could fit more rubber on it if you don't care about the "ballooning" effect. The 245 is pretty much the standard size for a 9" wheel I think.

295 seems a like it might be a little too much for the wheel though but i'm no expert

I don't have any pictures of the tires on the car at the moment though, I can get some if you want.

NYCMille, I see you are running 265 45 18 on the front of your 69.  I want to run them on the front of my 68. 
Is that on a 9" wheel?  Also what backspacing are you using, and is there any rubbing issues.  Finally, did you have to modify anything?

Im already running 265 50 15 on a 9" wheel on my 68 now and for the past 40000 miles.  So it just the additional heignt I am worried about?

My tire sticks out 5/8 of an inch from the wheel lip to the furthest point that the tire bulges out.

Personally, I like a little of the tire sticking out from the wheel.  5/8 is just about right for my taste. Cetrainly no less than 3/8 for me.

Correction...  that is an 8" wheel not 9". Sorry about that.

So you're running a 265 on an 8 inch wheel?

I think so, I would have to take it off to measure it to be sure but the rough measurments I just did looked closer to 8 than 9.
