I remember an old Tales from the Crypt episode where Brad Pitt races a 68 Charger and if I remember right the Charger rolls over about 5-6 times. I couldn't find that part on the internet and don't want to buy the series just for that.  Anyone got it to post on here for me to see again??

It's like 10 seconds of a Charger barrel rolling a few times.  It's actually kinda sad and stupid, but by now we're all accustomed to Hollywood trashing Chargers.  One of Brad Pitts first roles.  He's got a chrome skull on the car's shifter or something to show how much of a bad dude he is, and whenever he races he puts in a Warren Zevon tape, or some shit.  Brad Pitt is trying to score w/ a retired cop's hot daughter, I think.  I believe Pitt has to race the cop (he's a racer himself) before the old man will let him shag his daughter.  They race, Pitt runs a red light, and causes a terrible accident between a water tanker truck and a vinegar tanker truck.  The trucks crash violently into each other and let out a deafening sound, a bit like a thunder clap, "Douche!"

Pitt loses the race because he crashes into a Caterpillar and bleeds out, all over the end of the episode.  This delights the crypt keeper.  The cop's daughter learns an important lesson, which is, "I shoulda slept with that cool guy in the '68 Charger.  Oh, well, live and learn."

Anyway, the Charger looks just like mine used to - nice chrome wheels, white stripe.  As for the wreck - the steering wheel of the guy's Charger starts vibrating wildly - he's having some unspecified mechanical trouble - then the car is launched into the air for God knows what reason.  I have it on s-vhs.  I used to keep a tape in the vcr and hit record whenever something interesting would come on, so there's prolly an MTV Spring Break bikini contest right after that.

It would take me a while to find the tape, and then even longer to get it onto my computer, so if you can be patient I'll see what I can do.

The "Danger to manifold" idiot light came on, and Pitts car flipped after a floorboard came off, fell downward, and got caught in a crack/seam in the road...flipping the Charger.  So sad.  :icon_smile_tongue:

I saw that clip like one time about 15 years ago and I still remember it.

I've seen hundreds of GL stunts wrecking Chargers and that one probably bothered me more.

I swear I have that on VHS somewhere.... IIRC, the charger was a 68 with a roll cage and a SUPERCHARGER?   Yes,   I will have to now start playing those old VHS tapes.... :shruggy:
