Bands that you have seen live

the sex pistols only played two of three shows here in the states.. their last show of course was here but i missed that.. other than the historical value i don't think it was much to see,.. 

"The Pistols set out on the Anarchy Tour of the UK, supported by The Clash and Johnny Thunders' band The Heartbreakers, over from New York. The Damned were briefly part of the tour, before McLaren kicked them off. Press coverage was intense, and many of the concerts were cancelled by organisers or local authorities; of approximately twenty scheduled gigs, only about seven actually took place.[77] Packers at the EMI plant refused to handle the band's single.[78] London councillor Bernard Brook Partridge declared, "Most of these groups would be vastly improved by sudden death. The worst of the punk rock groups I suppose currently are the Sex Pistols. They are unbelievably nauseating. They are the antithesis of humankind. I would like to see somebody dig a very, very large, exceedingly deep hole and drop the whole bloody lot down it."[79]

Following the end of the tour in late December, three concerts were arranged in Holland for January 1977. The band, hungover, boarded a plane at London Heathrow Airport early on 4 January; a few hours later, the Evening News was reporting that the band had "vomited and spat their way" to the flight.[80] Despite categorical denials by the EMI representative who accompanied the group, the label, which was under political pressure, released the band from their contract.[81]"


i do wish i'd seen the ramones and the clash and Hendrix though all i could've seen with a little effort.

i can think of some others I've seen,.. Montrose, Earthquake, PG&E,  Hot Chocolate, all of them before 1/2 the members of this site were born and I'd bet another 100 bands and individuals nobody here has ever heard of..
some of them were actually pretty good too.. oh and Bill Nelson post Be Bop Deluxe..

I would only like to see the pistols because it would be cool to say you had. I would also have loved to see The Germs, The Modern lovers, Iggy Pop, Bowie, The New York Dolls, Richard Hell, and so many more. Some of those people are still around, But I doubt there as good as they used to be. I would like to See Jello Biafra. I think that would be cool.

 Living in San Fran. during the '60s (i was 10 in '67) going to school near haight ashbury from '66 to '68, playing in a half dozen bands, going to Europe and LA a few times and having music as basically a religion for thirty years, I had certain "advantages"... Just like some other folks here have car connections, abilities and history I could never hope to match.. particularly among the wing/areo car Community.

Oh man!. My brother had some of their stuff when I was a kid. Now, I've got to go find some to listen to.
The first thing to pop in to my head is, "All the people who died. Died." Is that them or am I confusing them with another band?

Maybe I missed it. But I haven't seen the Ramones or the Sex Pistols on anyone's list yet. I sit down the other night and made a list of the concerts I want to see this summer. It would be possible for me to hit about 15 shows this year, but I may want to put that money into my Duster. It's hard for me to see any good concerts as the venues are all around 100+ miles from me. SUCKS!!!!

its pretty good for me I live about half an hour from manchester....most bands who tour england play there

Pretty much every metal band from the 80's and 90's at least twice..(worked with lots of them)  A few here recently, but shows these days don't compare to the massive stage productions of the 80's and 90's   Good example.....Iron Maiden...the Powerslave tour....that was an awesome production.

Went and saw TOOL last month. It was a pretty good show. The opening band was pretty horrible. Tool had a great lazer show and played for about 2 and a half hours. The only problem I had was they didnt play enough of their old stuff.

I got tix to see Down and The Melvins next Saturday in Charlotte. Hopefully it will be a great show, Ive been wanting to see Down for quite a while.

Black Sabbath & Ronnie James Dio the other night, 

Ozzie threatened to sue them if they played any "Ozzie" era Sabbath songs, so RJD did his old-school (Rainbow) material. Great stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tickets were marked down from $45 face value to $15 and FREE PARKING!!

Saw Down and the Melvins last nite at The Fillmore in Charlotte. What a damn good show it was. All of the bands were great and the crowd was really into the show. Down played for close to 2 hours and was the best part of the nite. I took quite a few pix. I wanted more but I ran out of space on my memory card.

Lionel Ritchie & Tina Turner (Tacoma Dome) - don't laugh, these guys put on one helluva show
