I have a 318 engine and I am putting an M1 dual plane intake on it. There are some parts that won't swap over. The water neck does not fit. There are no holes for the dish looking part with a tube coming out of the top. The 2 little parts in the front with red arrows right by the thermostat, what are they called? Do I need to order different parts or do they just not go on there? Sorry for the stupid questions, this is my first time installing an intake. If you have any pics of a 318 with a dual plane intake please post them

This is a pic of the new intake where the part with the wire coming out the top should go. It doesn't fit. What should I do?

Paul, don't worry any of those items....they're not needed.  ;)

The dish thingy is an EGR valve....you don't want it. The plug with the the 2 vacuum line fittings is a heated vacuum fitting designed for pullution control...not needed. The last item on the passenger side of the intake manifold is the stock choke well....your new carb has an electric choke. If there is linkage interferance between the carb and manifold you can grind ot down as Tom said or install a 1/2in spacer. I like the spacer idea because it helps to insulate the carb and keep the fuel cooler....which prevents vapor lock.  :2thumbs:
