Could I also get some part numbers for the 4 barrel carbs that came on the 1968 charger engines.

The 383 ones were both AFB's and the part numbers were 2843 104 for manual trans and 2843 105 for the auto.  The list numbers were 4298S and 4299S respectively.

Ghoste, I believe the 1968 Charger 383 4-speed 4-bbl used the Carter AVS carburetor part #2899825, model #4426S , and the 383 automatic 4-bbl used the Carter AVS carburetor part #2863801, model 4410S (no A/C). If the 383 automatic had A/C it used Carter AVS carburetor part #2946633, model #4635S. All Hemi engines used Carter AFB series carburetors from 1968 through 1971.

As it happens I am looking for a 4426S....

You could be right, I'm going by the parts manual and they aren't always 100% accurate.

Not could be right, you are absolutely right.  I grabbed the 67 catalog which was not even supposed to be on the shelf I took it down from.  So 1, Never assume the book you grab is the one you think just because it's on that shelf. 2, Put you reference material back where it belongs. 3, Pay no attention to the little man behind the keyboard.
