Hi guys! I havent posted in awhile but I have been busy as we all get every now and then. I finally got my engine to the dyno this past Friday and I think it went great!  :2thumbs:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

We had to drop the driver side header as it was leaking bad. It never did seal well as you will see when I post the dyno sheet that the Air/Fuel was a point off from each side. Here is a pic as the rockers are getting adjusted.

I wanted to use these banged up 1 5/8 headers to make the dyno pull because I didnt want to ruin the ceramic coating on my new Hooker 1 7/8 headers.  I have heard that this can happen but it didnt "look" like my old headers got too hot but it could have and I didnt want my new headers to get cooked.

Hmm.  I'm building almost the same, so I'm hoping/guessing it'll be around 550 hp. :scratchchin: :2thumbs:

Those headers are 1 3/4 not 1 5/8 but regardless they are small for a 500in build and will hold back the top end numbers. Your 1 7/8in hookers are perfect for that type of build.

The RPM manifold is a bit restrictive on the top end but makes killer torque....this engine will rip your house off it's foundation.  :2thumbs: I'm gonna wild azz guess at 620ftlbs peaking at ~3900-4100 and the horsepower with the stock stealth heads is in the 535-540hp range on that DTS dyno. HP peak should be in the 5400-5600 range with that 256/260 split pattern grind.  :yesnod:

See I took all that stuff that Ron just said about header size and the mani and adjusted my numbers accordingly.     Just kidding, I don't know squat, I just wanted in on the raffle.  You are giving the motor to the one who guesses correctly right? Wha....

Dang Ron you have built and seen so many combos that you almost nailed it! Between you and Tantop,1970Moparmann you guys were on the money.  :smilielol:     All of you were very close on the torque.  :yesnod:

Here is what is made along with the dyno sheet that tells it all. I hope you all can read the sheet. Let me know what I need to do in order to make it readable if it isnt.

That's awesome.  Like Ron said, you'll tear the foundation off of a house! :2thumbs:

Great numbers, but I would have suggested you break it in with the old headers and then switched them to the new ones and made all your tuning adjustments on the dyno.  There's nothing like fine tuning on a dyno and knowing the REAL numbers.......

That's a nice flat torque curve....awesome.  :2thumbs:

The power numbers came in pretty much where i would expect them to based on the .050 cam duration  ;)

The numbers themselves are a little higher than i am used to seeing....but the SF dyno i'm familiar with is a little more conservative than the DTS dyno that was used on your testing. 20 ftlbs/HP is about right when comparing the two.  :P

That's going to be a fun car to drive !  :coolgleamA:
