I took off the lower boot and noticed it was hold down with only 2 screws.
After removing I noticed a weird thing, like someone shifted so hard he smacked the back side of the hump hole...
Anyone had the same thing hapened?
thanks

This one time I had this girlfriend that used to like me to smack the backside of her  hu....... oops wrong forum, my bad

Is it possible at one time that an owner might have had something stuck or was trying to pry the tranny like to seat it or something with a crowbar.  That's what it looks like to me anyway.

Easy fix though.... with flat pliers and some flat stock and a body hammer you could have it right back to factory in no time.

Yeah I imagine it is an easy fix.

It's just that this type of hump don't look stock :shruggy:

There is a thread on that here as well.  I vaguely remember the pictures and I think it is stock.  More will chime in.

That's the proper hump, alright. That type of damage is not all that uncommon, believe it or not, although that is probably the biggest crinkle I have seen. Maybe, one of the pins came out of the shifter rod  and allowed the handle to smack into the rear of the hump's hole? Also, it doesn't seem as though positioning those humps on the floorpan was an exact science. Looking over a lot of these tunnel/hump pic threads, no two of them seem to be in precisely the same spot.

Factory shifters didn't have stop bolts and that damage proves the need for them.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

looks like they shifted and the rod came off the tranny. I got one of those handles for my69 project that I will use in a shifter I got out of a pickup truck. I will have to shorten the rods and  will be using the od trans as well. I was reading the thread about the spacers on a 742 suregrip and I ordered a set of those. I will have to get a set of green bearings for my other car. I am on a new used pc. and am loving to be back on line.!!! 2 weeks with no pc power! :o

bring that car back to the states and have ol skip have at her...he'll take care of that problem for ya..glad to see you got the car,,,I was worried

The damage most likely occured when someone was pulling the trans to change the clutch.

i just pulled my motor and tranny this weekend. i didnt have any damage like that on mine.  the guy who had the car before me beat it every time he drove it too. so i suspect someone went prying on it to bend it like that.  like other have saod thats an easy fix eitherway.
