What would it cost to go and get ALL the parts to build a 426 hemi, and then build it, this is a question I have been thinking of, and wanted to know what you guys think.

I would recommend going with a FHO, (for hemis only) or one of the like Mopar builders out there.

Just my two cents....

It would cost a LOT     my friend has something like 22K in his engine...     he's trying to sell it for 17...

Figure about 13-15K ?   :Twocents:
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

Exactly.  I guess, first question is why would you "want" a hemi?  Look? the WOW factor?  It really depends on the parts you use, if you are looking at basically stock, sure I would say 13K, but if you do anything upgraded.... expect 25,000 plus.

yep...     getting a 750-800hp hemi is expensive for sure

I thought of buying one in parts, would be around 12-13K$ without anything special but considering the very few people with really experience
of Hemis if you turn into problems made me stop thinking of building it on my own.
Also checked out the crate ones but there you also have to open them up for checking and maybe change some parts depending on what
you want so if I go for a Hemi it will be a professional build one and it's not because of the horsepowers.

It cost me $15k to build my 472, it has all the best parts. New MP block, Manley rods, CP pistons and pins, Stage V heads etc. I got a few parts at bargain prices but I have a much better engine than an MP crate is. I've worked on Hemi's since 1980 though so there was no mystery in putting it together.
