i believe this is the car we talked about on a different thread. no fender tag or build sheet . that really hurts the price on these cars .  opening price a little high too .

Being that it's number matching drivetrain, with matching body numbers, I don't see the missing fender tag or build sheet as a problem.   It's a documented VIN off the list too.   The other thing is it's a common color, base engine with a column auto.  So it's not like he's representing it as "something better" that you'd need more documentation to back up.

Looks like a decent car and a good opportunity to get in the game.    Wonder if the rear window trim is there?

The reserve isn't $50k, but for around this, I agree based on how prices are and have been up to 5 years ago, it's about right.  Hell, I would trade my restored 70 Rt for it in a heart beat! :2thumbs:  I've always wanted a bird, and hopefully one day will have one.  Outside of Chargers, this is by far the coolest cars that mother Mopar produced!

Looks like a bargain basement opportunity for someone to invest time and the talents to take the car to a next level .And use for later trading .If a daytona in this form shows up.We know Danny and Troy are looking to score a wingcar.Troy has one of these hes trying to sell.

That car is located in my old neighborhood. Well, sorta. Spring is a pretty big area. Ted Janek's neighborhood as well.

We're at least a year away from spending that kind of cash on a wing car so the timing isn't so hot for us.
I wonder what his reserve is? If it goes very much higher, then it's going to start getting semi-close to what a decent driver is going for.
What we're hoping for is to find something pretty rough with lots of parts missing. We have just about every part needed to build a nice car now. I could even cannibalize the 70 Satellite for body parts.  ;D

The 50k Craigslist ad is gone. Ted says a relative posted the ad up early and jumped the gun. He's looking for a number in the mid 60's. 50k will not do it. Can't see it in the pics, but the rear window trim is there.

I missed the rad support stamping in my earlier post copied above. He says it's not there but the trunk stamping matches the dash.

It will never be a blue chip car, but is a good opportunity for someone to step up from a clone or standard B-body to get in the wing car game.

I've been by his house before, but I didn't recognize it in the photo. Thought I remembered more trees next to the driveway.

In order to be numbers matching, doesn't it need to have a fender tag? So what if the engine and trans match the fin. You cant document anything.

The fender tag has nothing to do with being numbers matching. It would help to identify factory options but that's about it.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

:iagree:

The stampings on the engine and tranny pad would match the body stampings and VIN sequence number.

This car seems to be one of the better deals available lately, but it's still not something I can afford.  ::)

The last wing car that was affordable to me was a white Superbird Pete Veight was selling back around 1990. If I remember right, he was asking $17,000 & said he would probably take $15,000 for it. It was a clean, older resto that still looked really good. Not a top show car, but with some detailing it could be pretty nice & something fun. I had just bought my house & the timing chain in my Scamp went & took the rest of the motor with it. It was my daily driver & I had to wait for my tax return for money to fix it.

Bad timing for a wing car & a bad timing chain, hmm.

I recall that white bird came out of junkyard .That Pete rescued and did a nice restore on.Might be the one he added a sunroof to .If Im not mistaken
