Bought 4 new U-bolts for my 8 3/4 and now I notice that on the drivers side there isn't enough threads, does left and right
side have different lengths? :scratchchin:

there are hemi and non -hemi springs
and the u-bolts are unique to each type of spring

(drivers ) right side spring is ( supposed to be ) thicker than the left

Per, how long are your U-bolts ? For the xhd or SS springs the desired length is 8 inches.  :yesnod:

Thanks for the input. :2thumbs:

Per, the passenger side should have the extra leaf....not the driver side.  :yesnod:

Mp also sells longer u-bolts if you  need them.  ;)

I will order the correct shorter ones when I need something else to combine shipping. :yesnod: Got a package from US yesterday, parts
plus shipping was 500$. Had to pay 200$ taxes to get it out of the postoffice. :eek2:

There's no "way" around that?  :scratchchin: Do you have to pay tax on "presents" from "friends"?  ;) If ya know what I mean...

Per, are you saying that the 8 1/2" u-bolts are too short ?  :scratchchin:

Ron,
No, they are 1/2-1" to long on the driver side. On the passenger side were there are moore leafs they are good. Could put some
washers inbetween but that looks kind of crappy.

Ok, that makes more sense !  ;)

Too long is not a problem...and what you are describing is normal. The extra leaf in the passenger side spring means that there is less threads exposed than driver side once everything is torqued down to spec. If the un-even look bothers you that much (it shouldn't) then simply trim up the excess thead length off the driver side and call it good....problem solved.  :icon_smile_big:

Fwiw, i tried installing a set of SS springs with a set of 7in u-bolts and could barely get the nuts started on the passenger side.....now that was a problem.

Hey Ron I think he's running out of thread hitting the un-threaded part of the U bolt trying to tighten it up(?)  :scratchchin: could he just run a die up farther and cut the threads up "higher" rather then take 4 months and pay 200 bucks to order a different set?
