Damn that guy was great.

I always loved Dom's Humor. Always one of my favorite comedians. He was always great on the Dean Martin show too in the '60's & '70's. The guy could cook too. I have tried a few of his recipies, and they rock.

You will always be missed, but in my memories forever Dom. :'(

Wow, I didn't realize he was that old. Too bad. He was very funny. Whatever happened to his kid after 21 Jumpstreet?

chargerboy69

That sucks.  He was very funny.  Here is a clip of him in one of funnest movies made; Blazing Saddles.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I loved that scene in I think it was Smokey and the Bandit 2?  Anyway, where he plays a goofy doctor.  He goes to examine the patient and realizes it is an elephant and comes running back around the truck scared and proceeds to listen to his own heart rate...  He was truly a very funny guy.

That sucks, I loved most of his flicks.  ::)

One of my favorite movies with him was "The End" with Burt Reynolds. He played a mental patient in a nut house & did a great job.

You have no idea... my buddy Paul and I were talking about it yesterday.  Dom DeLuise is responsible for the majority of my childhood laughter. Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part I, Smokey and the Bandit and or course Cannonball Run... simply hilarious.

It terrible to thinks he's gone as this guy is one of the reasons I do what I do - He will be missed.  :'(

Here's a clip from History of the World Part 1 - simply awesome!  :2thumbs:

Someone made a good point to me... now that both Dean Martin and Dom DeLuise are in heaven, God must be laughing his ass off!  :icon_smile_big: :yesnod: :smilielol:

My favorite part was when he says: - - "wash this"!  :smilielol: Too funny!

I liked most of his stuff.  Funny sense of delivery, always coming just a little too fast & nervous to seem forced.

He was funny in "History of the World part #1 & Blazing Saddles.
And I think his presence really saved Bandit II from toppling into suckage.

But the two "Cannonball Run" flicks were lost on me.
They're well known Burt Reynolds 1970s/80s car movies, and I've never had a tape or disc copy of either one of them.  That says a lot.

Back in the '80's I was on a business trip in Malvern, PA. A few of the employees decided to hit the bar in our hotel for a few drinks after a long day of meetings. So, we're sitting there enjoying our drinks and in walks Dom by himself. We asked him to join us and he did. He sat there with us for about an hour just shooting the shit. Even bought a round of drinks. He was quite a guy.

(He was staying at this same hotel and was in town doing a show at a nearby dinner theater.)
