mopars in may branson missouri 2009 road trip

We took the chance and went to branson again this year , even though we broke down last year

   Ian and I my 8 year old left at 5 am saturday morning ,  we passed the bass pro tracker boat factory in clinton missouri

   gassed up in bolivar missouri ,  got 14 Mpg   not bad at all .  I'm still breaking in the motor and getting the six pac set up right so hopefully we can even improve that

yes we saw a stealth bomber and several other plane go over , heard them more then we saw them .

we ate at waffle house in springfield missouri  had a great breakfast at 8 am

  there were 5 or 6 new challengers I got the check them all out up close

this would be it so far , at least that it hasnt totally broken    We do drive our cars I have put 20k on my 69 roadrunner in the past 12 years and drive it all over the country to carshows .  We are driving the birdible to minnesota the end of this month we shall see what happens .  I was very pleased with the trip to branson except we did loose lights and the alternator at the end . It was a new one (ultima brand?)and has a life time warranty .

  had to get picture of the tuner neon for my oldest son Quintin .He was schedules to come with us but was missing home work and failing a couple classes. So he had to stay home to get caught up.

And, the superbirds still get no respect. Your car is a lot nicer looking than the coronet.
I've been to a lot of car shows where halfway decent b or e bodies will take the show even though there's an absolutely perfect Superbird in attendance. Why is that? Convertibles tend to get passed over as well for some reason.

Too bad they didn't get the 150 cars that they had expected. The constant threat of rain didn't help. It has rained so much around this part of the U.S. that we've only attended one show since they started back in March.

I used to think of Branson as a hick town with a bunch of hayseed actors in corny country shows. Not any more. I started going up about six years ago and now we plan our vacation around the August cruise every year. The only probelm is that we had to give up the Nats since it's the same weekend.

the bandit run was coming it slowly all day , T/A's of all cinds  . they were attacking branson for 3 days and then leaving for a cross country bandit run tuesday

well they all went on a cruise of branson with the bandit and  then watched christine

  Ian and I packed up for the trip back to KC and we just had one more stop to make for Dinner ,  Food will always play a big part in my road trip threads

  lamberts home of the throwed rolls ( they throw the rolls across the room at you ) , One hour wait  but well worth it .  More food  then you could ever eat and good home cooking .  I had the prime rib special and ian had meat loaf

this old guy accosted us in the parking lot as we were leaving ,  He had to tell us about his buddy superbird that is a 383 hemi and how he really wanted to order a convertible but couldnt afford that option .
We just nodded and smiles and left quickly

two gas stops on the way home once in bolivar again and one in belton ,I was  loosing battery power bad in belton and had to limp home with low lights .

alternator swap monday night , after math of branson trip .   Much prefer this trouble them last years .

  ultima alternator has a life time warranty

    it was   $1.00 to up great to a 78 amp , so I did it with the modern touch screem radio I figured it needed it . This one has a better design I dont think the  rear main wiring stud will pull out of this one .

So we left at 5 am and got home at 9 pm .Made for a long day but it was well worth it . Ian and i both had a blast
