Got bored, and accidentally bought a 68 Coronet grille on ebay  ;) Always liked the frontend of the 500, and it would be cool to mess with the other mopar purists in Norway  :stirthepot:
I'm looking around in old C500 grille threads, and I think I need the following:

-headlamp buckets the headlamp bezels attach to (68 Coronet)
-dayclona fender to grille fillers
-dayclona grille mounting set

I really don't want to do any major modifications on my regular grille structure, but it looks like I need to weld some brackets for mounting the coronet headlamp buckets? Is that the only modification thing? everything else is bolt-in?

Is it easy to obtain some coronet headlamp buckets?

I think it would be cool to morph the 2 grilles together ...As in use the 68 coronet griil , just set back into the original Charger grille plastic.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

You mean like using the coronet piece in the recessed charger frame, and use the normal plastic surrounding?
My grille is in okay shape, so I don't wanna butcher it. Besides, I wanna be able you turn it back to "stock" when I want.
Also thought about using the coronet grille recessed, but I don't think that will look good  :scratchchin:

I don't think there is ANY welding required.. Let me look at Dana's front area and see what's involved. I know the grille header (which also includes the headlamp buckets) remain in the car. I believe the modification that's required is a vertical support bar used to help support the '68 Coronet headlamp buckets you'll need to get.

Thanks Troy, but doesn't that vertical bar need to be welded in?

Yo Dog...
Here's what I have.. Sorry I couldn't get better pics from the fender-side, but it's too cramped in there.. But, the vertical bracket is definitely NOT welded to the upper and lower horizontal portion of the grille header. It's a simple straight peice with 90 degree bends on the end..

Thank you Troy, that's a load off my mind! Now I got a better perspective of how it's done.
