Don't think I have ever went into detail about the story online before. Plus your a little off on the fine figure. I wish I would have gotten that.  More to come shortly

Lets just say that I have been told by many people that I have a knack for finding these cars. My friend Neil has said he thinks I can smell them. lol. To me, it is fairly easy when I have time to do so. But the biggest advice I can offer is open your eyes. When driving. watch the road, but look everywhere. You will find that there are allot more cars sitting there than you think. Now looking at my pics and the list of cars that I have owned, think of the X brand cars I have passed on. I have found lots of them to. I know of a 70 LS6 chevelle sitting next to a barn. I knew of a 67 Shelby GT 500 sitting in a shed. I know of a 64 tri power GTO sitting at the side of a house. I did end up getting one of my favorite GM's. I had a 71 Camaro SSRS for a short time. I know of a hugger orange 69 SS camaro sitting in a pasture too. It was still there about two years ago. I will see if I can find pics of these cars. I have to sort threw negatives and have them redeveloped. Also. the two HEMI cars that I have had are not the only HEMI cars I have found. I know of two other 67 Chargers and a 66 charger. 1 of the 67 being a 4spd car. it was just seized by the government though. It was listed in another thread. None of them are for sale though. The 67 4spd was a fairly well known car around here. I am trying to think of other real cool X branders I can think of. 69 GTO convert. 70 Rebel machine. 78 lil red express truck I can buy for $1000. 70 Z28 camaro. 64 tri power for galaxie XL. and many others.  Go look in the rurel areas. You will find cars. They are there.

You know, I have heard you say this several times, and I have been trying to do that. Just up the road from me, there is a 69-71 Sweptline Dodge truck, and it has been sitting there for four years. I just noticed it two weeks ago, and I keep begging my dad to take me up to see if the owner will sell it. I think the guy uses it as a wood hauler.

I just wish I could find a '70 B-Body. :2thumbs:
Oh, your Duster is AWESOME!!! Love that grille.

Yeah, all it takes is looking and paying attention. For example, I've gone to this resort town a million times before but never payed attention to barns or anything. I want out there again last year and spotted a '69 GTO Judge sitting in a barn that I never noticed. So like I said, pay attention and look and you'll find stuff.

By doing that I've found:

-'64-'65 Barracudas
-'67 Camaro SS or RS
-'67 Chargers (2 in one place, 1 in another place)
-'67 Chevelle (2 in two different places)
-'68-'70 AMX
-'68 Charger
-'68-'69 Roadrunner
-'69 Dart GT
-'69 GTO Judge
-'70 Chevelle SS
-'70-'71 'Cuda
-'70-'71 Duster
-'70-'73 Firebirds and one Trans Am
-'70 Lemans
-'70 Roadrunner or Satellite
-'70 Superbee 440-6 4spd, plum crazy
-'70-'71 Torino GT convertible
-'70 Torino
-'71 Chevelle
-'73-'76 Duster
-'74 Challenger Rallye

I know I'm forgetting a few.

Part four.

I was still over excited about my new toy and it was still early. So I headed into town with it still in tow. I lived in a little town about 2o miles north west of Logan. I wanted to take it to Logan and show a few people I had told about it threw the previous week. So I bring it to Hawkers A-1 Auto in Logan, UT. These guys are probably the best High performance engine builders in Northern Utah. They are also a bunch of stand up guys and do great work. I recommend them completely. So I pull in and after a few minutes I have a crowd forming around the car. Several Mopar guys are standing there in astonishment. Here sitting on a trailer right in front of them is a un-touched beat up HEMI Road Runner. It's not very often that you get to look at a real hemi car. In today's world, it's even more uncommon to see one that is left untouched and beat up. So after it sat there for a few hours, I head off to Neil's. He is also shocked. He takes some pics of it and offers me $1,500 for it which I quickly turn down. He looks at it for a while longer still in somewhat of disbelief.  It is starting to get a bit late and I am tired so I head home. When I get there. My Mom and Dad just shake their heads at me. I then told them I had turned down $1,500 for it today. My Mom looks at me and says; "ARE YOU CRAZY?!? TAKE IT!" I told her that I was not sure if I was going to sell it or not yet and that it would take allot more than that to get it from me. She couldn't believe it.

Fast forward a few days.
I get a phone call from a guy. Do you have a HEMI road runner? I tell him yes. He says he wants it. I told him I was not sure if I wanted to sell it yet and we proceed to talk for a little bit. He asks if it has the fender tag to which I reply yes. He says again. "I want it!" I tell him that the car is ruff. He told me he didn't care and that he wants it. I then tell him that I had sold a 66 HEMI charger for $3,500 a few years ago and feel that this is worth more than that. I really was not sure I wanted to sell it yet. He told me he would send me $5,000 for it and I told him it was sold. That was a lot of money off of $50. So we make the arrangement and I hang up. I then walk up stairs and my Mom asks if I sold it kind of sarcastically. I look at her and say YEP! She sarcastically asks how much. I look at her and tell her $5,000. Her jaw dropped to the floor. It was awesome. I laughed my ass off. I then told my Dad and he couldn't believe it. I told them that It was going to Florida. So here is this car that has sat in this yard in the middle of nowhere since 1976, I forgot to mention it was a Teton flood car. And now it is off to Florida. Honestly. I kick myself for selling the car. I wish I wouldn't have. One real cool thing to mention is that I also owned another 70 road runner 383 4spd car that was build the same day at the same plant about 115 cars behind the HEMI car. I wish I still had that one too. It was a factory 4 color car. EV2 with black interior and hood stripe. White vinyl top and gold trunk stripe and dust trails. It was a N96 car also. Damn I had some cool cars.    All well.  I hope you enjoyed the story.  I have many others.

Thanks for the kind words on the Duster. This is one I am keeping. I always told myself if I ever got another 426 car that I was keeping it for sure. I guess I was not specific enough. This car was built on 426. So I have to keep her around.  lol. One day it will be a nice cruiser.

Have you ever heard of the law of attraction? Its a theory that basically says that if you believe it or think it enough. You will be surrounded by it.
That's why these Ghost hunters seem to be the ones that always run into ghosts. Or the ET guys that seem to get abducted by aliens. I believe in cars and love them. I eat breath sleep cars... until I started going to school. Now I have no time. 40 hours at work and 30 hours at school every week keeps me busy. That is probably to some credit to why I have found so many. There is no set way to find cars. Just open your eyes. They are there. be patient.
