Two nights ago I went to my local Dodge Dealership (Friends with the owner for 15+ years) to test drive a Dakota(Hemi) he told me about. I've been looking to trade my truck ever since my fiasco a week or so ago..

Anyways, I went in and drove the Durango. Nice. Loaded with EVERYTHING and priced right. But it wasn't "me".

I then drove a V8 Grand Cherokee Limited. VERY NICE truck, but again, not me.

So we were sitting in the showroom talking about cars and I kept glancing over to this R/T Charger (Hemi) sitting on the center of his floor.. He says "Seems to me you like that?!?!". I said "Yeah, but a bit rich for my blood right now, I have a General Lee draining me, I want to CUT my payments, not add to them. But, if you can get me into that thing for under _____ and under _____/month I'm all over it!". He says "Let's talk........."

Well, 2 hours later we had worked out an incredibly fair price for my truck (thousands over payoff) and my "new" payments were $250+ lower than my SuperDuty. Tonight I picked her up, and I tell you this thing is a DREAM to drive.

I know a lot of you feel that "Chargers are meant to have 2 doors", and I agree.. But I have to say this is luxury mixed with power.. There is not one option this thing doesn't have. I am VERY happy wit it.. It's an 06 with 19k miles in pristine condition.. It just came off a 2 year lease with a 62 year old man.. VERY well kept!!

Let the fun begin, but here's how she sat her first time home!!

  I'm loving the addition of my new DD and look forward to spending some time behind the wheel!!

Congrats! nice car. I love the black  :2thumbs:

Thanks! It's covered in pollen in this picture, I'll have some good (clean) shots this weekend. One thing that amazed me was how quiet this thing was on the inside.. With the windows up and the roof shut you can hear NOTHING outside!!

Well, I think it's safe to say it's a Hemi by name only.. This has nothing in common with the Hemi of 'olden days'.. But it's still cool!!

You've got to remember here, I was sitting on a $550+ month truck payment, spending wads on Diesel and was having a problem with my state inspection. I got into this car for $250 LESS and am going to be as comfortable as all Hell!!

So wouldn't I, but it wasn't in my budget right now. I could have bought TWO of them if I didn't have the General  :brickwall: :slap:

FLG

True...seems like a very nice trade off!!

Just make sure you drive the wheels of both of em  :2thumbs:

Congrats man!
Tell me you at least took the 666 emblem off!
I'd rather die than go to heaven.

I had one extra made when I did them, so I have one, yes... But I couldn't take those off, I didn't have anything to put in it's place.

Thanks!! Did you buy it new? Have you had good luck with it?

I have 7 years of full coverage on it (got an extended thrown in the package deal), so I don't care if it breaks, but...

Yes I have had great luck with it...I got it in 2006.I think the only things I had to do to it so far were the transmission o ring change, wich is a very common problem with these cars...It's a 10 cent part, and I had one headlight lense replace for fogging up...So far it been great..I have 42000 miles on it right now..There are TONS of mods for these cars too..Check out Chargerforums.com for lots of info...

Very nice.  Most of the people here who don't like it, have never driven one. :2thumbs:
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Great deal.  Have fun in it.  This is weird though because I don't kow you but I remember someone with 666 in their name from a thread I read.  While I was coming home in my truck last night I noticed it had 66662.1 miles on it and I was thinking how soon it will be 66666.6 and I should take a picture and email to that 666 guy ( but who is he? ) and the next morning I fnd myself commenting on some guy's thread, and it's the 666 guy.  Weird?  to me anyway.  :icon_smile_big:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Very nice...looks like they added the Daytona styled wheels (black painted inserts between the spokes)or it might have been avail in an option package in '06 :shruggy:
Good luck with her!
First thing ya gotta do is get that chrome cross hair grill outta there....put in a honeycomb Daytona grill to match the black out theme on that black beauty

Very nice Jeff!!!!

Glad you got out of that ferd too.  BTW, that 666 emblem is what will sell that truck in about 3 days, believe it....

Wicked nice car and I know you are going to want to mod that thing.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

jb666

The truck was sold the night I drove it in. The guy was there to take it the afternoon I traded it...

Anyways, here she is, all tucked in (until the General comes home) nice and comfy...

Those loading ramps look like some cool skid plates you would see in a James Bond movie mounted under the Vette.   :coolgleamA:

Those are the ramps I used a couple of times to get things into my truck. They are for sale and store nicely under there.

This one has the Road and Track option that gave the blacked out wheels and nicer interior over and above the standard R/T. My wife wanted to buy a standard black R/T back in '06 that a local dealer had but, after I saw the Daytona and Road and Track options, I wouldn't buy it.

I almost had her convinced to buy a used SRT8 but it didn't have adjusted pedals and that is a must for her anymore.

I didn't know this until today!! I thought Road & Track WAS the R/T until a buddy of mine told me it's not.. That the Road & Track had different wheels & interior..

Now confirm this. He thought it had something done to the suspension and an additional 20HP? He said it was rated at 360??

The adjustable pedals are cool!!

After driving this for a few days I can say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this car. It's by far the most comfortable car I've ever driven.. And smooth? WOW!!! This car's a keeper!!!!

Hey guys, how can I kill the buzzer if I don't have my seatbelt on?? (and no, PUTTING IT ON isn't what I mean  )

Congrats on joining the dark side :coolgleamA:.. We are really enjoying ours. We took it to our local drags 2 weeks ago and the owner of the strip was by the gate as we entered and he said you can park right here if you want. the girl that was working the gate said " I have been sending them all on down" he said it'll be alright... he moved some cones and  thats where we parked..   right beside the staging lanes! we sat with the car! I do not think we could have got a better spot!  Then he set the cones back!.. Wow,, as they say were lovin it!..YES  there is an R/T package for trim and another for performance. If it has the large R/T on the grill it has the performance package.. Here is a link to some tips & tricks for the new Charger..

All that said it is still second fiddle to the 68R/T I just can not wait to get her back!!...

Nice Charger! Have to agree with another comment that someone made, the haters of the new ones haven't driven one yet. I have an 07 and I wouldn't trade it for anything but another new charger.  :2thumbs:

Brock Samson

Well IMO i've driven a white RT and an SRT and a GC SRT and the 300 Touring (v-6) and the 300 was the one i liked best,.. still haven't driven a chally yet... but what do I know?..  :shruggy: I prefer my '99 M by far.

jb666

No one's right or wrong here, it's all about personal preference.. I have a buddy who's got a killer Z06 yet he LOVES driving his 2000 Grand Prix. Go figure....
