This is just in general. But what's the best way to do a complete cooling system flush without having to pay $130 for a shop to do it with a machine. I've seen the kits in the parts store where you have splice in a tee. I have never tried that kit before. I asked some shops that I know how they do it. Some say to drain the radiator out and fill it up with water and run it until it gets warm and then redrain the radiator again a couple times. That's basically the same procedure it says on a bottle of Prestone Flush. I know if you just drain the radiator once it only gets what's in the radiator. Another shop told me to remove the thermostat and housing and start it up I guess to get all the coolant out. I'm just trying to maintenance coolant service on my Jeep. It's not corroded or rusty, it's just time to do it.

I would guess you have a 318?

There are two block plugs that will drain the engine. On the sides of the block ,pipe plugs, 1/2 wrench I think.

unhook the radiator hoses and the block plugs....     flush the radiator with water....    flush until clear...    then I flow water through the block until it is clear as well...
