OK Jeff's bought a 52 XM211 2 1/2 ton truck in N.H. and lives in FL. anyone got any ideas on how he can get it shipped down here? It's kinda my fault he's helped me work on the Charger for 14 years and I got him hooked on eBay about a year ago. He's wanted one since we were 8 years old (53 now) and I kept telling him to "go for it". Well he went for it last night and won...for 1580.00.Today he asked if I would check with you guys here since many have shipped cars around. It's about 1500 miles and he can keep it up there "as long as he needs to" the guy has room. It "runs great" so it can be driven to a pick-up point and driven for loading also. Any Ideas or contacts would be greatly appreciated  :scratchchin:

Generally on ebay ads for cars and trucks, there are links to transportation companies including quotes to your zip code.

Also. I'd call Schotts and see how he ships his rigs around the country.  He used to own a huge Harley dealership here in Maine and he has a buttload of military vehicles he rents to the movie industry(i don't know if he still does but he used to).  I think he might own part of Seacoast HD in NH as well, not sure.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is one of his that your friend purchased.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

THANKS EVERYONE!! I'll give all this to Jeff!! The XM211 is really cool, I'll get the item # from Jeff so you can see it. Apparently the X makes it a prototype model (we like the "X", like Chargers) They (the M211 6x6) ended up in Korea and this old beast is a survivor still in original paint and unmodified.(still has the original wood slats on the sides of the bed) :2thumbs:

Hey I don't have a "link" but the eBay item # is 120402422872 if you want to check it out.

Nice truck. Not the one I would have bought but I'm kind of picky. That is an original GMC 6x6. If he ever needs parts for it they could be very difficult to find. (If he gets the truck and it needs anything I know a junkyard that has two of those trucks.) The M-211's were made by GMC and only built for a few years in the 40's and 50's whereas the M-35's are still being built today by Kaiser and AM General...

Thanks for posting it! Yup we talked about parts and such for months, the big worry on this one was the tranny. He works at the V.A. and got called in today to help. He hopes to be able to take some of our Vets out for rides in it and have it available in case of a hurricane to assist others and rescue dogs and other pets, we nicknamed it "K9". He knows his wingman is a 70 Charger. I've warned him that we need to take a good look at all the seals before he try's "wetting it" to the axles. But all that is 1500 miles away for now. I'm sure he'll contact you soon about parts. :2thumbs:

Why dont you guys fly in and drive it home! You will be in for an adventure that you cant imagine!

Hey Jeff now that your here....about putting that big block in that thing so the "M" stands for MoPar...I figure a six pack would make good power and still keep mileage up if you drive it easy...the six pack scoop on the hood could be turned around... :scratchchin: help me out guys!  :D After all an M211 was in the movie "Sorcerer" one of my favorite flicks!

b5blue

Thanks to everyone for the links! Jeff and I are excited after doing an exhaustive search of shippers...K-9 should arrive May 5th! It should be in GA. by now and south bound.(delivery truck had wheel bearing problem) Up date upon arrival !

Todd Wilson

Its a cool truck but it will never be anything but a slow strong stiff rough riding  gas guzzzling old army truck. Designed to do one thing. Get its cargo from Point A to Point B in the worst conditions as possible. Have fun!

Todd

Thanks Todd! We both would have loved to "road trip it down" but it's too old to risk it! All the Vet's at the V.A. can't wait to see it/go for a ride! Mileage and speed don't matter...Jeff's only a mile or two from work anyway. The local MVPA's glad to get a new member and an XM211 to add to the "fleet". Also the guys at the Military Museum can't wait to check it out too! As for going through hell...if there ever is a hurricane hit here Jeff will be ready!

Todd Wilson

There was a truck like that at our truck show last weekend. I took several pictures of it.

COOL! Thanks  :2thumbs: XM211 came in last night..fired right up and ran smooth...great brakes...came with 11 tires on rims extra! (some that are on it are dry rot split) Needs windshield seals and glass is starting to "milk", other than that, a new cloth top.A good truck overall.
