68 trunk lamp wiring question

My 68 Charger has a trunk light. One wire coming out of the socket assembly goes to the trunk lid activated switch, where does the other one hook to? Whoever wired it up before I owned it had the other wire tied into the left rear side marker lamp which means the trunk light will only work when the parking lamps/headlights are on. Where is the correct place to connect it to? If anyone has a light package car I would appreciate it if you could check where it ties into. I also lost the special clip that was on the trunk rail for that other wire...

If I remember correctly it runs along the sill to tie into the dome light harness behind the left kick panel.

correct, that way the trunk light lights when the ign is off.
