Well sorry to say most of you have missed the point of the thread from what I gather.  The car you see that I first posted is NOT my car has NEVER been my car, I don't even know where it is.  I was just saying I could have bought it if I wanted to and that it was so close to my house and I missed it.

I haven't lie on here C-Stripes is just bringing the Cardomain Profile into this to escalate the situation.  As for me I'm really not in the mood for appologies, I think I've appologized way too much whether I was right or wrong.

That it is a MP Racecar - Nothing  :shruggy:

That someone made it look like one - everything I said on Cardomain. :2thumbs:

one question tho...and i'm really not here to argue the validity of your car as a MP racecar or whatever...but if it was...

I got my car on September 20, 2008 for my 15th birthday.  The car as I came to find out was actually a "Mopar Performance Race Team" race car.  This means that the car had its carpet stripped the ignition was modified, aftermaker tachometer, headers and various other mods.

if the 440 had headers on it...and...

(10/19/2008)

Removed the headers from the heads but the person that made the headers was a dumbs**t he had to put them snug against the engine.  This means that they are still under the hood and can't come out.  I got the spark plugs out of cylinders 1 & 8 both which are covered in oil and a seriously doubt that 2-3-4-5-6-7 are any better.

don't think a mopar race team would have hired that sort of people...but regardless dude...i'm not here to pick u apart...i don't think anyone is despite how it may look...but just tell the truth bro...its all good...your lucky that you have the money, space and parts to work on your charger dude...wish i could say that about mine... :yesnod:

Ok well that's why I said that someone made it look like a MP racecar

I'll appologize once: I'm sorry I didn't take the time to own the car before I bought it to know it's history  :shruggy:

Okay, The purpose of this post was to see if anyone had any stories about how they missed a really cool car close to their house and once they found out it was there it was too late to do anything about buying it for yourself.

Well also that it was a HEMI!!!

Rolling_Thunder

My parents forced me to pass on a 1970 RT/SE V-code 4-speed car back when I was 15...     good thing - in hindsight I would have wrapped the car (and myself) around a tree or light pole by the time I was 15.5   :rotz:         I had the $$$ but my parents were "our house, our rules"  ---   So I purchased my 68 Charger about 3 weeks later...      I had looked at a number of Chargers before buying but my parents limited me to a non-R/T...    leaving the 318 and the 383...      I looked at a White 69 R/T   440 4-speed car but there again - not able to purchase it...

426HemiCharger

There is a '73 Charger with a landeau top I think it was originally green and had a 440 I never chaecked it out becuase my parents say it is probably too far gone, some panels replaced as whole and I doubt it has an engine

A '72 Charger was for sale on the main street in my town green with a green top, $8100 didn't even last 3 days!!! :o

my 72 charger that was given to me last year my mom paid 5000 for it and put about 7000 or 8000 into it. when we first looked at the 72 they wanted 9000. my moms 73 (steeling it) she paid 1800 for it and put 3000 into it it it is not bad looking , my dad got a 79 cordoba (may steel or let brother have)he paid 700 for it and put 100 into it for new tires, the 73 roadrunner (given to me) my parents paid 6500 for it and put 1400 into it ,and my aspen i paid 1100 for it and put 400 into the car and 1350 into rims and tires. you can get some good deals out there
and the aspen only has 22,401.1 miles and i can prove it by looking at the oil change stickers

Well now that this thread seems to be on track, I'll share.

My sister's first husband's father had a stock, and was the first owner of a 1966 Dodge Coronet, with a 426 Hemi, console, 4 speed, white interior, bucket seats.  It was a Colorado car, lightly faded green, no rust, just faded paint.  It was on their driveway and hadn't been started in a year, so I helped him fire it up!  Very exciting.  I was 19, and wanted to save up and buy it from him, but with college and other things it never happened.

Years later I was reading a muscle car magazine and there was a whole feature article about a guy who bought a 1966 426 Hemi Coronet from a guy in Boulder, Colorado, and driving it back to Texas.  It had to be the same car, how many 1966 Hemi Coronets in light green with a white interior could there have been in Boulder?  That one really stung.

In 1985 I got a friend all lined up with a very nice 1970 Dodge Challenger RT, 440 4 speed.  This car needed new seats and could use paint but was just an excellent car, for $3000.  Of course, even though this was a college aged guy, his MOM wouldn't let him buy the car.  He was pressured to buy his cousin's lousy Camaro LT, complete with Batman decals on the dash, for $3000.  This leaking rattletrap ejected one of its custom T-tops on the freeway in Arizona, and my friend had to pay $1500 to have a replacement one custom fabricated.  Think about that.  Because of his mom's stupidity (believe me, she was an a$$) this guy paid 1/2 the price of a great car to fix a T Top of a lousy car, and if he had bought what I told him to he could put his kid through college today.  But no.

My other friend passed up an AAR Cuda I found for him for a "really cool Honda", upon which he put a parabola antenna on the roof so that he could pick up shortwave in the car, or whatever.  Over time, the heavy antenna started to tear the flimsy roof metal where it was bolted, making the car have almost no value.

I don't want to talk about this any more..... :'(
Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

426HemiCharger

Went to Walgreens on a Hot Late-April day and looked into the Auto trader, ah 30's 40's 50's ah yes 60's first thing that catches my eye is a long sleek Charger in R6 Red, 440 A/T A/C P/B P/S. No price and no contact.
