Not quite on topic, but a buddy of mine was in a band back in the day. The name of the band was Sinister Clyde. His name was Russ Peterson. He played guitar. Unfortunately, on the brink of making a big break, Russ drowned.Even though we were best friends from about 2nd grade until we kinda went our seperate ways in high school, I had lost contact with Russ by then. One can only imagine what might have been.

 It's been 10 years since I folded my band "Everyday People". I miss it but I mostly remember the good stuff.    - had that band for 7 years, "The Rogues" before that lasted 20. I was in a couple in-between those, "The Brothers" and "Galaxy Chamber" those were not my bands though,.. I had four different recording and practice studios too. I held the leases though I didn't engineer.

I played off and on for about 25 years.

Old school: rockin' a resort in MN c. 1990. The singer, the guitar player on the right and I played together in the late 80's and 90's. (Me in the back on the black bass.)

Last 4th of July, we had a bit of a mini reunion. The three of us were on stage again together for the first time in 10 years when I sat in with their new band. This time I've got my Strat. The guy on bass to my right toured with a version of Badfinger. Last winter, he was tragically killed on the way home from a gig.

Probably not what you'd expect, but I play the bass trombone in a swing band named the Bedford Big Band in Bedford NH. I'm all the way to the right in the first row of the attached pic.

Great thread. 

I perform nights & weekends in my band called The WRECKS. We play rock covers (modern, classic, etc), & perform in the bar/club scene in NJ & the surrounding areas. Been doing it for a while now, at least the past 6 years or so in this band alone. We've even played at the Borgata in Atlantic City, and a few pre-game shows at Giants Stadium. Mostly bars & clubs though, and private parties with birthday parties ranging from 1 - 70yrs old!

I think I have an old amp around somewhere. Not sure if it works anymore but it did last time it was plugged in. It's pretty big but I think it will fit in the back of the Suburban.

in one of the other bands i mix this guy uses an AC30 (smokin amp btw) and he can't bring it up past for or thats all you can hear on stage...it makes for a tough mix 4 me too

I was in a rock cover band waaay back in the late 70's/early 80's. Played rhythm and lead guitar. Had a beautiful B.C. Rich Mockingbird Supreme hand made electric guitar. Quit the band July 1,1981 and sold all my equipment. Had a lot of reasons for giving it up but getting away from the drug and alcohol scene was the main reason.

No. 20+ years of construction, plus working on my cars has done a number on my joints. Can barely pick my nose never mind a guitar.

So.....they finally added a song to the Myspace. This was my old band. I quit back in April. Got fed up basically. They chose the covers and I got no choice when it came to picking songs. I'd suggest a song and Andrew (bass player) would "refuse to do it". There was more than that but I don't want to get into it. Here's one of the songs we wrote. It's on the Myspace. I wasn't recorded. I was away on family matters for a weekend and they decided to record. Instead of waiting for the next weekend to record, they got impatient and Andrew recorded the guitar parts. I wasn't too happy about that. I ended up making some minor changes to the guitar parts. Like at :30, the weird computer sounding thing, I changed that to a whammy bar dive...Andrew originally did that but it just sounded computerized. They re-recorded their parts and when I went to record a couple of months later, I couldn't even play 20 seconds into the song, they recorded their parts were messed up (it was off of the beat and too fast). They said they recorded it and then realized it was off beat but didn't want to record it again. So we never ended up recording my parts because of that But here it is....

The thing was, they wrote the vocals....all the songs they wrote, the vocal pattern was the same as this song. The only difference was the song I wrote. That had a different vocal pattern all together. We never got around to doing it though Oh well, saving it for the next band!!! One song we were AWESOME at playing was 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' by Metallica. That was one song I felt the magic with. Oh and check out the song credits. Thanks guys!

I know hey? Andrew used a Godin and an amp that has almost no distortion. My Marshall though, lots of that That's one of the reasons (besides me not playing on it) I really wanted to re-record it. I've known Travis (drummer) since Grade 5. He's been one of my best friend's since then. Andrew's also one of my other best friends. I've known him since Grade 8. However, I'm moving 8 hours away this summer

Hey Cody, I'm the drummer in a band called "Tuesday Munster".  I have no idea what it means but, our guitar player thought of it.  I've also been playing guitar since I was 9 years old, I'm 43 now.  Started drums when I was 15.  I can jam.     I also jam in a band called "WhiskeyDust" here in Michigan.
