So we will have enough money to buy her the Neon.  :2thumbs:

That's great  Who signed the door jamb again? Chris Jacobs was it?
Yep  :2thumbs:

71ChallengeHer

We got the wheels , tires and battery switched to her Neon this morning.  :2thumbs: Then Eric came over and switch some stuff to his Daytona. I cleaned up her floor mats and car show chair. :eek2:  We still have a couple things to get out of it. Then the insurance picks it up tomorrow or Tues.  :pity:  Shelby's Neon will be ready in a couple weeks. Rick said he is making it right for her.  :2thumbs:

71ChallengeHer

We didn't cut her door jam out. I didn't want to tick the insurance off.

WHAT'S THE COST TO BUY IT BACK!!!??

Car still runs and drives, right?
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Mike, It still runs. Eric hooked the battery back up and drove it on the car trailer. I never asked the buy back. Why ?

mikepmcs

I'm curious, interested, etc.... if it's not too painful for you gals.  There should be a buy back price and it shouldn't be too much and would most likely come out of your settlement/(ie: no real money out of your pocket just off the top of your claim) Now, that money could quickly be put right back in your pocket say if someone interested and willing to take on such a project were to get the money to you lickety splickety(in my best Eminem rap)

I can call and ask, tomorrow  :popcrn: It's a shame we just spend $1200 on it in Jan. New headgasket, timing belt, motor mounts, all new belts and some hoses, new theromstat. We had the motor and heater core flushed, brand new turbo valve cover and gasket.  :pity:

Hey Jackie, I'd call the insurance company and ask them about the signature. Just tell them she got it signed and would like to know if maybe you guy's could cut it out?

I wrecked my 73 chally several years ago the insurance company totaled it paid me 2500.00 for it and it bought it back for something like $300.00 I made out like a bandit!! definately check it out and see what they want for you to buy it back they probably only a few $100.00! they don't really want to deal with the wreck!! and you can make some more money on the car!!   :2thumbs: engine, body, etc.....!! I would definately GO FOR IT!!!!

I agree, the worst that can happen is they say no.

Steve P.

Yes. I have bought back 2 cars that I can remember. A Camaro and an Elcomingia.... Both had fresh drive trains and rotted bodies. Ironically I have never been hit in a mopar...  :2thumbs:

Jackie, This the first time I read this thread. Sorry about the loss of the Daytona. You guys did some nice work to it. But most important, you still have your daughter. It's great she is okay after that.  My best wishes go out to both of you.

Glad to hear that Shelby is doing better. As far as buying back the car it can be done if you haven't signed over the car yet. My 2000 Chevy 1 ton work van was total in an accident two years ago. I bought it back from the insurance company for 10% of the appraised value.
From the way you talk the car sounds like it might be kinda cursed. You might be better off starting fresh with the Neon.

Well, I had my 2nd nerve wash yesterday. It still hurts like a Mofo. I have to have another one in 2 weeks.  :rotz:  I sure hope it starts to help.  :pity:   Shelby is gettting better everyday. She is still on inhalers for her lungs. She goes back for a check up next week. The insurance picked up the Daytona this morning. It was really sad to see it go. Shelby cried.  :pity:  Hopefully her Neon will be ready soon.  :2thumbs:

TUFCAT

I feel very sorry for this turn of bad luck, hopefully your back feel better and Shelby ends up with a pink Neon and strobe stripes.  :2thumbs:

Hang in there gals,  it will get better.  Sorry for all your woes. :rotz:

It just keeps getting worse.  :pity:  The tranny just unloaded in the Plymouth.  :brickwall: :brickwall:  Now we are down to driving the Chally. In the freaking rain.  :RantExplode: :RantExplode:

Actually that was taken 3 years ago.  :nana:  We can't afford too much for another car right now. I'd have to sell the Chally.

71ChallengeHer

Shelby is doing much better. She doesn't have to go back to the Doc's for a month , now. She is still on inhalers but not as much. And the steriods every other day. She did get a sinus infection back and is back on antibotics.   :2thumbs: I had my 3rd nerve wash done on Tues. The Doc said it should last all summer.  :2thumbs: I just can't wait til it stops hurting. No car shows this weekend.  :pity:
