Year one positive battery cable

I just received the battery cable from year one (YO) that was suppose to fit my 74 318 B-body. YO claims that it will fit all Chrysler small blocks. It is not a "drop in fit". I can modify it buy cutting and splicing in more wire and connecters, but before I do that what have others done to make a new cable work? Its a daily driver. YO cable for the starter relay is to short and it looks like the thing is short.

Did you try calling their tech line, maybe they sent you the wrong one?

Yes I did. Sent it back and found one on ebay.
