Hey guys,

What physical characteristic specifically makes them better than the 68-69 intakes?

What part of the power band do they improve and by how much?

Would it be a good swap on a near stock 69 440 magnum with a 270/270 duration .470/.470 lift cam and 3.54 rear end?

Thanks!

Do you mean the "spreadbore" design Intake, over the regular "4-Hole" ?

"Spreadbore" being 2 very Large rear Barrels, actuated progressively from the smaller 2 Front primary Barrels.

"Spreadbore" is a better breather, due to Increased Plenum Volume directly below the Carb.

Yes, it should be a power increase, in my opinion, from about 2500 rpm & up provided you also re-carb up to the Thermoquad Carb, or other "spreadbore" type carb.

I thought the 440 HP manifold was nearly identical 1967 through 1971.

Darn, I forgot they went to the spreadbore!

I have an Edelbrock 1407 on the 69 stock intake right now. Is the Weiand 8009 the same height as stock? I know about the CH4B but don't want the problem of looking for it, plus the 8009 looks closer to stock to me. I'm trying to keep the stock appearance and gain some hp.
