Other than 71-74 B-body rearends, are there any other 8 3/4 rearends that would be correct for a 73?  Would earlier B-body rearends be the same?  I'm trying to figure out what is capatible.

Thanks

According to this, not really...

So if you use a 2nd gen b-body rear, it's about 1-7/16" further in per side (meaning that much less backspace would be needed for each wheel).  Not to mention, any other body requires relocating spring mounts.

Going by that chart from moparts it looks like a 1970 or 1971 c-body rear could work.I think the spring perch and axle width are the same. :scratchchin:

Hi,

Just installed 1972 station wagon rearend on my 1973 charger, it is .400" longer each side. Spring perches are the same as your car just a little longer over all. I'm going to run 8" rims on the rear and 7" on front. You won't be able to see that little bit of difference. I even used the springs that came off of the wagon too, it gave the ass a little lift also, then you can haul all those hot chicks around without any problems :2thumbs:

If you give me you email address, I'll send you pic's of my Charger if you would like.

Good luck,

Steve Porter
