Thanks!!!  Actually, as it happens, I had a breakthrough today, found a problem in the ignition system.  After nearly two weeks of fiddling with it not even trying to start, I fixed the issue, turned the key, and it tried to start!!  it was like 9:30, so once it started *trying* to start I quit (I live in a very close neighborhood and my neighbors are awesome, so I don't want to bug them), but turning the key over with the fuel and timing "somewhere in the general ballpark" and having to turn the key off to keep it from starting means I darned well should be starting it tomorrow!!  Happy freakin' birthday to me :D
