I work for an automotive aftermarket company and am a guy that loves classic cars.  So the company that I work for is at carshows all over and auctions all over so I feel like I have a good grasp on prices for cars and what they should really be selling for.

Why do all of these people that own these cars and get in a tight spot ask full price in a recession?  The best one that I have seen was a 1974 plain jane charger that was rusty but ran for $5000 When that car should be $500. I wish I would have taken a pic of it.

Or the clone car's that should be $15-20 grand that the owner is trying to get $50-60.... :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

In a recession people have less money but need more so they think they can sell thier cars for 2006 Barrett Jackson prices when they were inflated in the first place.

Oh Yeah and one more thing the prices of cars in California are crazy.  I grew up in the midwest where I bought a 1973 dart 318  for $500 and my 1974 Charger for $200 and they both had under 70,000 miles on them.  Same cars out here are going for 2-3 grand and are junk with over 100,000 miles and are most of the time 6 cly.... :flame: :flame: :flame:

I'm just looking for a driver that I can have some fun with.  It dosent even have to look that great and I have been looking for almost 2 years now.

So I say all of this to say I can hardly wait until the prices catch up to where we are money wise...
I Love Chargers Yes I Do....I love Charger How Bout You

My guess is that things aren't really all that bad for them yet. I mean if a guy had to choose between groceries and his Charger he'd probably choose groceries. Right now they're apparently only having to choose between the Charger and cable TV.

A lot of these cars have been up there for a awhile and it will take a awhile for people to want to lose money.

I went over my neighbors house yesterday.  He has a 1971 Camaro, since 1971.  He asked me what it's worth?  After a ebay trip I said the 6,000.00 you want "may" happen as prices are in the can for most cars.  6,000 for a numbers match complete 71 Camaro?  5 years ago he would get twice that.  Prices are crazy, Mopars do well and that's good for those of us that own one.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
