I've had many questions about the wheels and tires lately.

Here is the information.  I heard that Boss stopped building the 17 x 8.  I did a search and can't find them anywhere.  This must be true.

Boss 338-
Front - 17 x 8 wheels / 4.5 backspacing with 255/45/17 Nitto 555 tires

Rear - 18 x 9.5 wheels /5 backspacing with 285/40/18 Nitto 555 tires

Got some great news this week- I'll be securing the original engine for the car soon!!! :2thumbs:

Earlier in this thread I mentioned the original engine was in a Duster and "my friend" was going to give it to me when he decided to get rid of the car.  He flaked on me and sold the car on EBay.  I contacted the new owner ASAP and he first verified the numbers it is mine!   Craig has been awesome to deal with and wants to make sure I get it back.....

Needless to say I'm very excited! :2thumbs: :nixon: :nixon: :nixon: :nixon:

In the future ill put it back to stock specs.  It's an original 383 4 speed with Air!

The car will stay as/is for a while :2thumbs:  This is a fun car to drive!  Love the torque!

The original engine will go back in eventually in the future.

The current motor sure is purty!  :drool5:  It will be a tough one to swap that one out. But the matching motor has that cool factor.

Been working on detailing up some of the parts on the car.  Tail light lens.   Not bad - some toothpaste, plastic cleaner, and some time!

First picture shows two polished up (left), right two show before shot.

Cleaned with soap and water

Toothpaste with a damp rag

Plastic polish with a damp rag, clean with dry cotton cloth

The saga continues... This summer sucked with the car!

-Replaced the grill support
-Replaced the engine mounts

Now, I have a bad Master Cylinder and while farting around with my brakes noticed my bushings are gone - WTF.  I love the double work on this car.

I originally put on PST rubber bushings.  The car has maybe 4,000 miles on them and they already failed.  There are slits in the bushings.

What is recommended - Poly?

I have a whopping 150 miles on it this year. :flame: :flame: :brickwall: :brickwall:

Had a great weekend with the car.  Went to the Route 66 show in Springfield, IL.   Made a stop on the way back and got some good pictures.[/URL]

Happy for you Mike  :2thumbs: Glad you got her out and about again! I just got mine back with the rebuilt transmission, new mini starter and it was running fine until Saturday when I was out for a rip. Have this awful sound that I think is coming from the torque converter area so i hope it is something minor as it goes away after the revs are up  :shruggy: Getting it looked at tomorrow. I still have a shake at 68 mph to 75 mph as well even after re balancing the tires for a 3rd time. Al from Control Freak has given me some things to check on the suspension as he is the owner/designer there in Florida.

That sucks- hopefully it isn't anything major.

I still have a list to the car on things to do, but I figure what the hell, drive it.   :2thumbs:  Put on about 450 miles and had some fun.   I found out I get about 12 MPG when going 85 the whole time - LOL.   This is why we took a more scenic route coming back.

Sad day.... Had to put the car away for the season.
