I got my bumper back from two trips to the chromer.  :flame: :brickwall:
Sure looks pretty sitting next to boxes of NOS parts ready to be bolted up. I didn't locate an NOS license plate bracket but had mine restored by Jules  :engel016: and it looks pretty frickin good. Picked up both reverse light "Master Packs" as well as a license lamp assembly and of course the license plate hardware kit.  :woohoo:
I got a "semi" just looking at it. :drool5:

Funny it took two trips to the chromer on my back bumper also!
Nice collection of NOS for the bumper! Not many more sets of those parts to be assembled
on one car. We couldn't find an NOS license plate bracket either.
I had a pile of used ones and we found just one with real strong original galvanizing!
I bought an NOS spring and nylon fastners and had Troy restore the mounting bracket.
It all ads up to a very nice assembly. WELL DONE!

John,
Your license plate bracket sure looked like a new piece.

Mine is not as nice. :icon_smile_blackeye:

Ive got most of the interior in...pics to follow but some of you may remember I was searching for a antenna.
I was able to locate a super nice NOS take off antenna and had it shipped to me. Unfortunately this is what I found in the mail box.

472 R/T SE

Whenever I ship stuff like that, I use PVC or water pipe.  Those cardboard tubes are for calendars.   ;)

The water pipe I used to ship a Challenger SE rear finish panel cost a little more but for peace of mind was worth it.  When you're shipping priceless items "an ounce of prevention is worth....yada, yada...gold"

I got distracted with buying a new truck to one day begin hauling to distant events but managed to get the interior buttoned up other than the buckets and steering column which are on hold until I can get the brake booster back and reinstalled.

Hi gang

I put some hours in on the Greenie lately after a long time away mostly due to the hobby fund being empty. Still havent fully recovered but enough that I can play around.

After doing the Hokey-Pokey with the bumper I finally got it back and one and Im very happy. I did have an attrition during the bumper dance where I lost on of the NOS reverse lenses. I found a great NOS replacement for the NOS part.

Im sorry Im not the picture documenter that Troy and MoarJohn are so Ive missed a lot. I got the front suspension buttoned up and the Greenie sitting on on fours again. Its been such  a long time that I forgot it was close to ten years since it was like this.
I forgot to mention a couple of facebook friends reminded me to update this thread. Thanks!!!! :icon_smile_wink:

Im not going OE Gold level but Im trying the best I can to get a "GOOD" restoration.

Yeah but your idea of "trying the best I can to get a "GOOD" restoration" is most likely R. Gibson, K. Alexander level.  Don't ever think the quality of your work is sub par, be proud man!

She's an absolute beauty.

But I'm super partial to '68 Coronets & that other ride of yours has to be the nicest one I've ever had the opportunity of not seeing in person.   :brickwall:

FJ5WING

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the support and especially the encouraging words from 472 R/T SE. I know Im biased but its turning out very nice. I have had to settle for some reproduction parts during the process. I dont have the funding or the time it takes to get my hands on correct parts that seldom surface these days. Ive probably spent too much restoring many parts to try and stay away from the repops. Im sure most of us understand my reasoning.

An update about the antenna, I was able to root out another one but had a lot of shelf wear(not to be confused with weather wear). Guess what! the polisher lost it.....YEP!

Have a GREAT day boys!
